Guest guest
Back massages are absolutely wonderful!! I've only had one or two done by a professional and what a difference it makes. (I usually make my hubby massage my back in the achy parts and it does wonders.) My question is for those that do massage therapy. I recently injured my back (fell off an ATV and landed on a tree root/branch. Unfortunately, it hit some of the tender spots I normally have from my scoliosis (curvature of the spine). I went to the ER and the x-rays showed that nothing was broken (although it feels like it!). I'm still quite sore and I'm wondering how long I should wait to go and have a massage? Is it best to wait a few weeks until the pain subsides? It's very tender to touch right now but I just keep thinking how good a nice massage would feel on my muscles! The doctor told me to take XX amount of ibuprofren every 4 hours or so. I haven't taken any because my stomach gets upset just thinking about taking all of that! Any ideas on a good recipe for a soothing bath?? Sorry this is so long!! Diane mommysdaydream

Guest guest
Diane, This would be a great time to have Reflexology and/or Reiki or Healing Touch instead of a massage. The back will get relaxed, blocks to the free flow of life force get removed, and healing is speeded up. That's what all the healing arts do: remove blocks to the free flow of life force. You might also want to look into natural remedies that speed up the healing process. Homeopathic Arnica, or Traumeel, or my favorite, Recovazon. (ask me off list about the last one) Ien in the Kootenays http://profiles./free_green_living
