Guest guest
Hello, I have a small, inside dog who always stinks after she comes in from a walk even if she has recently had a bath. It almost has a " fishy " smell. Does anyone know what causes this or how to remedy the smell? Thanks! Connie Stay in the know. Pulse on the new .com. Check it out. Guest guest
I have a BIG dog that has really oily fur (part golden retriever) and he always stinks! So I too would love to know a good hint on keeping the dog odor down. Thanks! Guest guest
If your dog smells like ; take her a Naturapathic dr. who does DNA scanning; your pet has an imbalance; You need to find out what it is; All you need is a clip of her hair; its analyzed and it will tell the results; Good luck and God Bless; Keep in touch Sincerely Fred constance young <connieyounglmt wrote: Hello, I have a small, inside dog who always stinks after she comes in from a walk even if she has recently had a bath. Guest guest
A smelly dog can many times be directly linked to their diet .... what do you feed the dog? I used to have a couple of smelly dogs but since making the switch to a natural raw diet and no more crap in a bag (kibble) They no longer smell, they rarely get bathed, their coats glow, their teeth shine, they have responded to it very well, just wish I woulda done this many many years ago. Guest guest
What kind of a diet is the dog eating? Standard dog food will usually make a dog reek. OUr dog smells lovely, like nuts or something. We use a holistic kibble mix, a few raw eggs each week, occasional raw buffallo or when I can find it organic beef, tomatoes (she loves them), cheese for treats, peanut butter when we go out to keep her quiet, occasional probiotic superfood mix (keeps my husband's odor down as well, lol), any healthy leftovers. She's also not vaccinated. I think BO is caused by toxins. Try adding some greens (we use In-Liven probiotic superfood: www.goodskinforlife.com). Other greens may work like AFA (?), barly grass, etc. Try bathing with a tea tree oil shampoo or add tea tree oil to whatever you're already using. It's anti-bacterial and may help. We haven't given our dog a bath in months and she doesn't smell dog- like at all. Guest guest
Sorry I haven't been following this but the an odor from the ears could be a yeast infection. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your responses! I'll have to try the tea tree in the bath (LOVE tea tree!) and a better diet; she does eat " mainstream " kibble. Thanks again! Guest guest
Going to ad my two cents here....Does she not smell before she goes out? Or do you just notice the smell when she comes in? What is she doing when she is outside? Is it colder out? If she is out running and playing they can develop a sweat smell like us humans. Is she going out and rolling in something? Maybe somebody has applied a fish fertilizer somewhere. Is it her coat that smells? Does she have bad teeth? Is she going out and getting wet somewhere? So many questions, so many possibilities. And some dogs depending on their breed just have a natural oil in their coat that smells. I have a black lab and he is much smellier in the wintertime espcially being cooped up in the house in winter plus he is old and has an old man smell but he is still very very lovable. Does that help? She gets walked on a leash and doesn't have a chance to roll around on anything or eat something funky. The smell is really harsh at first, then it dissipates until she goes out again. We live where the weather is warm most of the year, maybe that is the problem. Her teeth are fine; I think it's her coat. ~Connie We have the perfect Group for you. Check out the handy changes to .
