I would not recommend that anyone go off their meds without consulting their Dr.

or first switching to an alternative Dr.. I DID do this myself (and I had had 2

heart attacks at the time) --- however I was familiar with herbal medicines and

did a LOT of reading and matched all my prescriptions up with GOOD herbal

medicines that were for the same thing. I also have a medical background - so I

knew which ones i had to " wean " myself off of. Herbal medications can interact

with prescription meds (i.e. - a lot of herbal meds interact with coumadin!). I

had no choice at the time because I could not pay for my prescriptions (17 meds

and no insurance!) ---- when I finally went to the Dr. after a year she told me

she couldn't believe I was still alive! Actually I felt a lot better and am now

only taking coumadin. All my other meds are herbal. What a differance! Helen

Why not inform your doctor that you are switching from coumadin to vit. e. ?

I was on several anti depressants about six years ago and used a book called

" your drug may be your problem " but made sure I was ready and slowly took myself

off. I would advise reading this book first and having someone else in your

life or several people to support you fully before trying this but it can be

done.
