Guest guest
I understand David Winston has a protocal that helps Mitral valve prolapse. It is based on Night blooming cyreus (sp?). If you do a search under his name and herbalist his site should come up. My wife has the mvp as well and has just bought some of his formula and will start taking it next week. We have also traced palpatations to sour foods/drinks such as cranberry juice as triggers. according to ayuvedic medicine palpatations will be worse during the summer do to the relationships of heart and the summer season. You may also want to give acupuncture a shot for the pain and swelling in the joints as well as the palpations. b --- N Snelson <az_nate wrote: > Hey all. Guest guest
Hi Nate, I would suggest you either supplement Magnesium (in the chelated form) or eat some Magnesium rich foods and avoid caffeine as well as looking into a cardiac herbal mix. Magnesium promotes smooth muscle relaxation and will help calm an irritated heart muscle that is having ectopic beats. Caffeine among other things increases the kidneys excretion of Magnesium. I'm 28 and have arthritis in my knees due to basically the samething where I've worn them out. I've had multiple knee injuries (all dumb wihtout exciting stories to tell) which has stripped the bursas (bursii?) which cushion. I also have Marfan's Syndrome which is a genetic disorder that causes elongated limbs and extra height (and many other annoying ailments). I grew so fast that one leg is ever so slightly shorter than the other which caused wear and tear from my body trying to compensate. Throw in scoliosis just for fun. I lived with chronic pain for 14 years until I finally went to a chiropractor who was able to figure it all out. Allopaths wouldn't even investigate and would only prescribe pain killers which I wouldn't take for love of my kidneys and liver. Eesh. This wasn't supposed to be so whiney. Anyhow, beside the heel lift to correct the length difference in my legs (makes a huge difference) I use an arnica gel on my knees when the pain is too bad. It takes the edge off so that I don't even notice the normal pain and also helps to reduce swelling. My mother has arthritis in her hands and started using the same gel and loves it. There are multiple brands and seem to work about the same. I prefer the gels as opposed to the creams as the gel isn't greasy and dries clear. Since I'm posting, I was recently diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse which is common with Marfan's so wasn't horribly surprising. Anyone have any suggestions on ways of lessening the amount of or severity of heart palpitations? They can be quite disconcerting and unsettling. They're not life threatening but they do make me light headed and wipe me out. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Nate, Thanks for the tip about the arnica gel. I'll get some! I'm sorry about all your other problems... e-hugs! For heart, the first thing that comes to mind is Hawthorne -- often Hawthorne syrup is prescribed; please look it up on the web as I'm not an expert in this, but I did look into it for a friend who was having heart problems and over and over Hawthorne came up. Heart palpitations can also be relieved by Valerian. I'm sure Doc can advise you better about such an important topic, though. Guest guest
MSM and apple cider vinegar work for me. Suzi iris054 wrote: I finally got my insurance reinstated, and then went to a bone specialist, as we've discussed here. What's wrong with my left thumb, at the last joint before the wrist (it's screaming in pain so bad I can't sleep) turns out to be osteo-arthritis. IOW, the doc said I "wore it out". It's bone on bone with no cartilage left. Sheesh. (I'm not THAT old, am I?) So, she gives me a brace to wear and says ice it (so far, so good), then gives me Celebrex, an anti-inflammatory (hmmmm). No other advice. She was kind of a hit-and-run, wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am sort of doctor -- whoosh! She was gone. Rack 'em, stack 'em. (Marcus Welby, where are you?)I stopped at the HFS on my way home and loaded up: whey powder for protein, Green Magma (barley grass powder), and a good chondroitan, glucosamine, MSM capsule. While I was there, I stopped at their "bar" and got a really yummy juice for my lunch -- organic wheatgrass, carrot and apple -- yumm! I came home and phoned the doctor's nurse, and she told me where to look on the web for all the things the doc didn't have time (apparently) to tell me. It told me if this doesn't work, then it's prednisone injected into the joint (doesn't sound like a good idea to me). If that doesn't work, then it's surgery. If that doesn't work, too darned bad. Then I looked up "herbs osteoarthritis" and got so many suggestions I'd have to win the lottery just to try them all. I already had gotten some emu oil, and at least for me it doesn't help. Now, I'm open to suggestions. Have any of you found something that helps you cope with arthritis?Melinda

Guest guest
Hi my name is Edmund Wronski. First I want to say that this group is really great, full people who help each other. About osteo-arthritis I think that all of you who have that problem can try a juice from Aloe Vera by Forever Living Products, Inc.. " Forever Freedom " Forever Freedom is a natural supplement drink that helps fight the joint pain and stiffness associated with aging, injury, and osteoarthritis. Freedom contains a powerful mixture of aloe vera, glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and vitamin C. Together, these ingredients help nourish and maintain the cartilage tissue and surrounding fluid that are essential for healthy joint function and mobility. Now I drink another juice from Aloe Vera, just Aloe Vera Gel to clean my body. By me I trust Aloe Vera and belive in its medical power. Guest guest
Hello everyone, this is my first post, but it happens to be about juice as well. Recently I started taking Tahitian Noni Juice. It is a tropical fruit that has a chemical called proxeronine. The body converts this into xeronine which helps in many bodily functions. For me I am feeling the effects of the juice with each day. I have heard many testimonies about it helping with auto immune diseases (arthritis)ect. Right now me and most of my family and friends are taking it. So far the results are promising. Just wanted to share with you all. There are various websites on Tahitian noni juice and I also have some information on it. So far the only way I know how to get it is through a private distributor. Anyway, it is not a miracle cure but has many medicinal properties. The juice is getting more medical recognition and I imagine over time it will be a blessing to me and my health. I will keep you posted on any progress I make. Nice to be part of the group, Duane Hi my name is Edmund Wronski. First I want to say that this group is really great, full people who help each other.
