Guest guest
Many people suspect that this is caused by chemicals in the environment. Some chemicals may be randomly combining with enzymes in the body to produce other compounds, called metabolites, that imitate estrogen. But with over 8 million registered chemicals out there, it is impossible to determine all the possible reactions. And of course we don't have hard evidence. So the only thing to do, is to practice reasonable precautions. This means using natural cleaners around the house, and of course making sure that your house is not in an industrial area in the first place. Among the more obnoxious chemicals that are suspected of causing these reactions are those from auto body shops, metal plating operations, paint manufacturing, and of course pesticides. If any of these are in your neighborhood, you have some possible but unprovable problems related to this. If you are in a situation where you have to move, because there are no remedies against environmental toxins, you could try feeding your child apple juice once a day until you get out -- that does help chemicals get out of the body a little faster. There are other herbs that might help, but for any suggestions more information would help. Guest guest
I was reading an article in Time recently that talked about the stunning rates of early puberty in today's children--scared me stiff, that's for sure. Apparently pubescent girls of ages 4 and 5 are not uncommon--yikes! Tellingly, however, the poorer and more industrialized demographics had higher instances of this problem. Some of the things that probably cause it: - Meat and milk that are loaded with hormones. This is a big one. Do everything you can to feed your kids organic -- I'm dirt poor and live in what's probably the worst state in the Union to try and get good food from, but I plan to do it if it kills me. - Overstimulus from the constant barrage of sex-symbols on television, in advertising, etc. This has been shown to actually trigger the brains of young children to start puberty sooner--hey, they're getting the signals...so KILL YOUR TELEVISION. (My standard advice to everyone, of course.) - Public school environments. Trying to explain this makes me yark; if you don't believe it, visit one. *brrr* $00.02 ST >Many people suspect that this is caused by chemicals in the environment. >Some chemicals may be randomly combining with enzymes in the body to produce >other compounds, called metabolites, that imitate estrogen. > >But with over 8 million registered chemicals out there, it is impossible to >determine all the possible reactions. > >And of course we don't have hard evidence.
