Hi Karen,

First, let me say that you don't need to be ashamed for having snorted a little coke or something. Heck, many of us did. It was the times, and drugs were being touted as a mode to higher communication with the self. It was all so groovy :~)! All things happen for a reason. Whether we know it or not. You did what you did for a reason just as I did what I did for a reason. There is no shame in that. It is all about learning from our lessons and mistakes. I am not ashamed. I wouldn't do it again if I had it to do over, but I am not ashamed. Second, I am sorry to hear about your sense of smell. Yes the medicos just love to carve, cut, scrape, burn and give them a Ginsu, slice and dice. This is the only way they know of to cure something that their potent poisons can't kill. Third, yes you can still use Essential Oils even if your nose doesn't work the way it used to. Essential Oils will still be inhaled into your lungs and travel throughout your body. You can also mix them into a carrier oil to apply on your skin and they will be absorbed and carried away by your blood stream to all parts within. Maybe you won't be able to enjoy the rich aromas, odors, and scents of these oils but you can still benefit from their physiological effects. Like herbs, eo's have a natural affinity for the human body. They can be healing if used correctly. They can also be damaging if used incorrectly, as they are potent. Hope this answers your questions.

[herbal remedies] Re:sense of smell question

Don.I just found the file for all the cleanses and I'm going to try them. As for my sense of smell, it's been so long ago but I remember havinga bad sinus infection before I lost it but also, I'm ashamed to admit, at that time I snorted some drugs up my nose and that could have damaged my smeller. Ofcourse the med docs got in there 10-15 years ago and removed polyps and did septoplasty because of sinus problems so I'm sure that did more damage because it didn't help my sinus any. Can I use essential oils or because of no smell they won't work? Thanks for replying.Karen

It is okay. I understand. It is a fairly complex process and would require a still. Not really something just anyone can do. Although, you can get table top distillers and distill your own for around two grand but the quality won't be nearly as good as the top of the line pure oils that use the expensive high tech equipment. Still, I would love to have one just to play around with. Out of how many hundreds of thousands of species of plants that are out there and they are only distilling the oils out of a miniscule portion of them. Amazing.
