Re: [herbal remedies] Digest Number 1711

Well, right now I have behind me a lovely crayon rendition of Vincent Van Goh's Starry Night on the wall, made by my son, Joey hehee!

Ahem! I am 37 years old and live in Springfield, Oregon. I was born and raised in Rialto, California. I was born on April Fool's day in 1965, clinically dead. My dad followed the doctors that took me from my mother and insisted they keep working on getting me to breathe. He was a very persuasive man, so I did. Our house was like a library growing up. Yes, even before the internet I had access to a multitude of books, many of them on science and medicine. My dad taught and encouraged me to learn all I could soak up about all kinds of things. He once deminstrated gravity to me by swinging a bucket of water over his head and noting (as he stopped swinging and water sloshed over his head and shoulders) that gravity was what pulled the water out of the bucket. I have kept on learning everything I can every day, and though I do not have a piece of paper (yet) that says I am a certified this or that, I do have some pretty good common sense, and a dry sense of humor, and 37 years of my life experience under my belt ;-) I did graduate high school with high honors and have some college (all that I could afford) as well.

So, I'm wondering if anyone is in touch with Frank and

checking in on him. Any Jewish mothers in the group?

Thanks so much to JoAnn for manning the helm until

Frank is back. Please send our regards.

********************************

Frank is back sorta of.

I have hobbled over to the computer and to tell you the truth, I am in need of

all of the Jewish Mothering that I can get.

I hurt my back on Monday by doing nothing more than bending over to pick up a

box of stuff for my kitchen. I didn't even pick it up, but just bent over and

started to when I felt a searing pain in my lower back. It was very, very

painful. With help I inched my way to the living room couch and stayed there for

3 days unable to move more than a fraction of an inch. Don't ask about the

details please.

My daughter came and brought pain killers and a corset apparataus to put around

my chest, waist and back. Another friend brought a heating pad. Everyone that I

knew called and said, " you have to go to the hospital and see a doctor " . I said

that they would probably kill me in the process and would wait it out. I figured

that if I did go that about all that they could do for me was to write a

prescription for pain killers and a corset and tell me to stay off my feet and

to use heat. So all that I would accomplish going there would be the pain,

expense, and extra hassle of going and than putting up with them and then the

same hassle and pain of getting back home. Plus they would then want to have a

follow up to try and sell me an operation or something.

Anyway, I didn't die even though I felt like it sometimes. I cannot sit for long

at the computer but I sure feel a lot better now and want to thank you very much

for your kind words and wishes.

kind regards,

Frank

Please relay to Frank:

there is a simple remedy that should be easily accessible:

take some vitamin B 1 in 300 mg sustained release dose,

accompanied by Calcium and a (50 mg or 100 mg) B Complex.

Twice or three times a day, and you should be better in no time at all.

Kind regards

Sepp

p.s. This is not exactly Jewish Mothering, but it might help

- the advice comes from my wife Susan.
