Absolutely! We don't learn the truth about this in school. Lest we forget... estimates of the death toll during the Inquisition worldwide range as high as 9 million people and the vast majority of them were women. Their crimes were worshipping a Goddess, practicing medicine -- or anything that anyone wanted to accuse them of -- as they were almost always convicted, and were not allowed to face their accusers. Their lands and posessions were then confiscated by the Catholic church. Coming to America didn't guarantee religious freedom either, as evidenced by the Salem Witch Trials. The Malleus Maleficarum, the documentation that started all this carnage is perhaps the most blood soaked documentat in all of history. The Inquisition suppressed not only the historical knowledge of medicine, but scientific exploration of that day. It was a tremendous loss to all of mankind, and it's effects are still felt today.
