Guest guest
Hi all, I have questions about the below information, posted to the list by Suzanne Nottmeier on September 23, 2002. I followed each link, and have included the information at those links, if additional information was at those links, I also included Don's comment on the quality of oils to be used. so this is the original information -- with additions. First of all, are these oils to be used separately, or in combination? And, if in combination, would that be in equal amounts? Second, are they for external use only? Third, I notice that with the blue cypress and the cypress, the Latin names are different. So are they different oils, with differing properties? Fourth, Beginning at " safety data " , do the instructions apply to all of the oils, or only to the HELICHRYSUM? Or are the instructions applicable to all of the oils? If this is the case, it would appear that using essential oils should probably take place in the evening, and that their use might be limited to one at a time. Is this accurate? TIA, Terri Lynne ********* BRAIN POWER Just make sure if you are going to use oils to insist only on certified organic, natural, pure, unadulterated oils. They will be more expensive but much more pure and therapeutically better. The oils in this blend contain high Sesquiterpenes, compounds that have been shown to increase oxygen around receptor sites around the pineal, pituitary and hypothalamus. They are responsible for the secretion of human growth hormone (HGH). Research indicates that they play a major role in dissolving petrochemicals known to plug the receptor sites and prevent receptivity. Brain Power may help clear the " brain fog " that people experience due to the ingestion of chemical foods, skin and hair care products with petrochemicals and breathing heavy chemical-laden air. Brain Power may increase mental potential, mental clarity, and long term use may retard the aging process. It may also support and strengthen immune function. Contains: FRANKINCENSE (Boswellia carteri) is considered the " holy anointing oil " in the Middle East and has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. High in sesquiterpenes, it helps stimulate the limbic part of the brain, which elevates the mind, helping to overcome stress and despair. Organic Essential Oils, Frankincense (Boswellia Carterii) This is known as the " holy oil " in the Middle East, and was used religiously for thousands of years. It was well known for its healing powers during the time of Christ. It is now being researched and used therapeutically in European hospitals. It is anticatarrhal, prevents scarring, antitumoral, immune-stimulating, and antidepressant. It is stimulating and elevating to the mind and helps in overcoming depression. SANDALWOOD (Santalum album) is high in sesquiterpenes, which have been researched for their ability to stimulate the pineal gland and the limbic region of the brain, the center of our emotions. The pineal gland is responsible for releasing melatonin, a hormone that enhances deep sleep. Used traditionally for skin revitalization, yoga, and meditation, sandalwood is similar to frankincense oil in its support of nerves and circulation. Organic Essential Oils SANDALWOOD, (Tantalum Album) Similar to frankincense, this oil is supporting to the lymphatic, nervous and cardiovascular systems, and relieves the symptoms of sciatica and lumbago. Traditionally, it was used for skin regeneration, yoga, meditation and has been found to help remove negative programming from the cells and increases oxygen around the pituitary and pineal glands, MELISSA (Melissa officinalis) is a powerful, antimicrobial oil, yet it is very gentle and delicate because of the nature of the plant, and helps to bring out those characteristics within the individual. It is calming and balancing to the emotions. Melissa is one of the highest in sesquiterpenes, much like cedarwood. It is very stimulating to the anterior pituitary and immune system. CEDARWOOD (Cedrus atlantica) has calming and purifying properties. High in sesquiterpenes which can stimulate the limbic part of the brain (the center of our emotions), this conifer oil has been used by North American Indians to enhance spiritual awareness and communication. It also may help stimulate the pineal gland, which releases melatonin. Organic Essential Oils CEDARWOOD , (Cedrus Atlantica) Historically is recognized for its purifying properties and is used in avoiding hair loss, dandruff, acne, psoriasis, arthritis, congestion, coughs, sinusitis, cystitis and nervous tension. BLUE CYPRESS, AUSTRALIAN (Callitris intratropica) improves circulation and increases the flow of oxygen to the brain, stimulating the amygdala, pineal gland, pituitary gland and hypothalamus. Organic Essential Oils - Cypress (Cupressus Sempervirens) This oil is beneficial for decongesting the circulatory and lymphatic systems, and may help edema, cellulite, varicose veins, and water retention. It is anti-infectious, antibacterial, and antimicrobial. (Evidently not the same as blue cypress.)? LAVENDER (Lavandula angustifolia) has calming and relaxing properties that can improve concentration and mental acuity. High in sedating aldehydes and esters, its ability to help overcome insomnia, headaches, stress, and nervous tension can lead to a heightened ability to reason and remember. Organic Essential Oils LAVENDER (Lavandula Officinalis) Lavender is known as the universal oil, and may be beneficial for skin conditions, such as burns, rashes, and psoriasis, and may also help with insomnia. It is antispasmodic, sedative, hypotensive, calming, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-infectious, cardiotonic, and anticoagulant. It prevents scarring and relieves headaches and PMS symptoms. HELICHRYSUM (Helichrysum italicum) helps improve circulation and stimulate optimum nerve function, properties which can lead to enhanced awareness and cognition. On an emotional level, its ability to help release feelings of anger, can allow the mind to gain focus and concentration. Organic Essential Oils, HELICHRYSUM, (Helichrysum Italicum) European researchers have found that this oil regenerates tissue, reduces tissue pain and may help to improve skin conditions and circulatory function. It is anticoagulant, prevents phlebitis, helps regulate cholesterol, stimulates liver cell function, is anticatarrhal, mucolytic, expectorant, antispasmodic, and reduces scarring and discoloration. In 1991, 1 discovered the pain reducing benefits of helichrysum and in 1992 discovered its benefits in helping to improve certain hearing losses. SAFETY DATA: May be irritating to those with sensitive skin. Avoid eye contact. In case of accidental contact, put any vegetable oil in the eye and call your doctor if necessary. Never use water. AVoid exposure to direct sunlight for 3 to 6 hours after use. APPLICATION: Diffuse, wear as a perfume or cologne, apply on neck, throat, and under nose. Massage 1 or 2 drops with a finger on the insides of the cheeks in the mouth. Doing this 1 or 2 times a day will immediately improve the smell sensory cortex. COMPANION OILS: Clarity, Envision. FRAGRANT INFLUENCE: Perfect for promoting deep concentration and channeling physical energy into mental energy. ______________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
