Guest guest
Hi all, It's been a while since I posted. My health is improving, thanks to this list and a couple of chats with Doc a while back. For those who might not remember, I got fed up with the medical establishment when I was getting inadequate treatment for chronic pain related to rheumatoid arthritis and (now-confirmed) fibromyalgia. I pretty much declared my independence from pharmaceuticals and began a comprehensive regimen complete with diet changes and now am nearly symptom-free with the exception of existing joint damage. A few weeks ago, I met a wonderful man who is a train wreck in the health area. He has experienced some pretty bad soft-tissue trauma in his back that causes him some pretty nasty chronic pain and I'm starting him on the deep-tissue oil for that. He has a heart condition that I am coaxing all the details out of him about before I begin addressing it, but I need help on how to deal with Parkinson's disease as he also suffers from a mild case of that. Parkinson's is not something that I've done a lot of research on, either in regards to standard allopathic research or alternative treatments, so any information is welcomed. Fortunately, he's willing to accept my knowledge of the uses of herbs, oils, etc. (such as it is) as vastly superior to his own and is willing to let me do anything short of poison him if it will help. He's pretty amazed that with the RA and fibro I'm down to only one prescription for pain management when I have a bad day (my new allopathic MD is pretty amazed too, and loves it when I bring in my latest research on alternative treatments as I'm showing him ways to help people who might not get the care they need if they have lousy prescription benefits). Once things calm down after the holiday craze, I do intend to hit my books once again and see what they say on the subject of Parkinson's, but the info here is really good too. Thanks, Sara in OH
Guest guest
Oh Sara that is so good the hear :-) I'm sure Doc will have many insights into the Parkinson's. Allopathic treatments in this area are a bit barbaric (which doesn't surprise me at all anymore). But the most important thing is you and your new sweetie found each other! I think Santa must like you a lot hehee! Guest guest
Uhhh, that's nice and all, but I was asking for help on Parkinson's disease. Parkinson's isn't a form of cancer, last I knew. Guest guest
Just a word of caution here. My understanding is not to exceed 200 mcg of Selenium PER DAY! That might be conservative, however it would very toxic at the dosage you mentioned. Guest guest
Randy, have you personally used this regimen of Vitamin C and Selenium? For what? Your last three partial sentences are unintelligible, please specify what you are talking about. Guest guest
Wellllllllll, I've never heard of that particular "cure" before, and using that much Selenium would make me a little nervous. Anyone else out there tried this recipe??? And don't worry about using the "cure" word here on HR. Believe it or not, you can still "Cure" yourself here in the US. That freedom has not been taken away from us.
