There is no relation to my two subject headings but rather two entirely

different subjects. The first is to thank Pearlmoon for the beautiful

poem that she or he wrote in relation to Christmas. I was so impressed with

it that I copied it and read it to everyone before our Christmas meal. It

was a real gem.

In relation to snoring, there is a simple remedy that I believe will cure

apnea but maybe not snoring altogether. Just take a piece of good micropore

tape 1/2 inch or 1 inch wide and put it over your two lips from one end to

the other. This of course is while you are sleeping. That way you won't

open your mouth while sleeping and your snoring will be attenuated

significantly.

I thought I was the discoverer of this method till I came across the Buteyko

method of controling asthma without drugs. Although I am not asthmatic the

method struck a chord because it uses this same method to keep asthmatics from

taking in too much oxygen while they sleep. There are many asthmatics who

claim

to have gotten a lot of help by following the Buteyko method and have been able

to wean themselves from a lot of drugs due to it.

It can be learned without any investment through aciduous investigation on

the web.

But their theory is it is better that you invest maybe 100$ so as to make you

follow the method more seriously.

You're welcome dear. I'm glad you liked it and I'm flattered that you used

it as you did. I sent the same thing (but changed the ending) to a

gardening group I'm in. Sorry for making it look like a cross post. Hope

everyone had a great holiday.

P.S. I'm a she. ;)~

This is really interesting thank you Chuck. I was wondering what would happen if your sinuses clogged during the night and you needed to open your mouth to breath? Hopefully you'd wake up huh ;-)

My experience with snoring - I used to snore loud enough to wake

myself up. It was almost every night, it was so bad for awhile that I

wouldn't stay at anyone's house overnight or go to retreats or

anything where I slept near other people. It was too embarrassing.

I did not have sleep apnea, my major issue was being very overweight

(over 100 pounds). I also found that during times of great stress, I

tend to snore more often.

I lost the 100 pounds and apparently don't snore anymore.

But the other thing I tried during the process that helped me was

from advice given at the local health food store - the lady said to

try a few drops of liquid MSM in my nose just before going to sleep.

I tried it, it seems to have worked well enough that my SO quit

complaining about my noise :-)

I have not experienced the huge stress levels since then, so I don't

know if that still causes me to snore - but I'll try the MSM again if

I do.

Good luck, I hope you find something that works well for you.
