Clorox to clean dishes?

Please DO NOT use Clorox. Those toxic cleaners causes more harm than good. The reason they clean dirts is because of toxic chemicals. Many diseases and health problems (such as asthma and/or ADD) are also linked to household toxic cleaners, believe it or not. Does anyone ever think why more and more kids are getting ADD and asthma at such a young age? It's not because of genetics. It's mostly because of the environment and our household chemicals, believe it or not.

Here is just a report. There are many many more out there.

Here is another one site that shows what's in our house that's toxic and dangerous.

Do yourself and your home a favor, use natural products out there.

Take care.

David

great point, David. Didn't you say you use Melaleuca products?

Note to everyone: I do not SELL the Melaleuca products so this is not the point of my post.

I do buy the Melaleuca cleaning products for use in my home, such as the Tough N Tender cleaner, Solumel and the glass cleaner (can't remember the name right now). I just order them over the phone from a catalog - but for those of you out there who are interested in checking them out - I'm sure there is a website available.

Maybe you can provide the link, David?????

They are all the BEST cleaning products I've ever used. I do not get sick using them like I used to when I used 409, Fantastik, Windex, Pine Sol, etc.... All that stuff gives me an instant headache and I get dizzy.

And everything is concentrated - so they last a very long time - a great value.

Check them out - you will be happy you did!

Hello Cassandra & all,

Yes I have been using Melaleuca products for over 3 years. The point of my post is so that everyone can use better, natural, and more cost effective products, whether it's from Melaleuca or not. If you find other products that can do the job WITHOUT any toxicity like the products Cassandra mentioned below, then go ahead.

It's time that we stop using J & J, P & G, and other grocery store brand toxic chemical cleaners. Have you ever notice the bottle always have warning labels that says "please use it in a ventilated area?" 3 years ago I used a grocery tub cleaner and was getting all dizzy and headache, even with the window opened. Afterwards, I was able to use Melaleuca's Tub-N-Tile, during the winter time in 30 degrees weather, with the window closed. I didn't feel any dizziness or headache at all.

To use me as a referral or not, I really don't care, as long as you take care of your babies and family FREE of any toxins in the house. You can call Melaleuca 800-282-3000 M-F 6am- 10pm and Sat. 7am - 5pm (MST). For those who want to use me, my ID is 3555-4002. For others, please just find good alternatives to your household cleaners. You'll be glad you did.

Cheers,

David - in Orlando Dolphin Resort

Thanks, David, for the additional info.

I remember last year my husband, kids and I went to a local cafe and an employee started to clean with PineSol - the odor (and chemical) was so overwhelming that we picked up and left with our food "to go".

It seems that the younger the person (for the most part) - the stronger the resistance to the chemicals or at least the effects aren't evidenced (YET) .

I find that people in their 40's (like me) and older are starting to experience the backlash from years of exposure to all sorts of these environmental toxins and now we're "chemically sensitive". That's why I am truly grateful there are companies like Melaleuca.

So for any younger people out there reading these posts - reduce your exposure now and you will not have to pay the price later and I'm sure you will live healthier and live longer!

My parents did not know back when I was growing up how awful all these cleaners are. I was regularly instructed on how to thoroughly scrub our tubs and sinks with ajax and comet - barehanded, Dad sprayed Malathion in our backyard about once a month to kill pests - he did it without a mask - and of course the rest of us breathed all that, too. This is just a small part of the picture.

Sorry for the long post I'll get down from my soapbox now.
