My Mother has been gone now for about 3 years. It's one thing to know you should do something and it's another to actually implement it in your environment. It took me about 2 years of hearing about the dangers of aspartame and reading Betty Martini's e-mail from Mission Possible to actually believe all those horrible symptoms could be cause by something approved the the FDA. I found it really helpful to get those e-mail reminders to keep me reminded not to use it. Would you consider sending out short reminders of things to implement in our lives on a regular basis? Kinda like when Mom used to remind us over and over until it became a habit. It's so easy to forget to take care of ourselves. For example, my house is full of regular type cleaning agents. I probably won't throw all of them away but I would be willing to start getting obsessive compulsive about not bringing in any more cancerous products. So for the convert on a "Twelve Step" program, realistically in something that a human being that already has too much to do in too little time like everyone, what do you consider the single most important change to make first and stick with it until it becomes a habit.I'm particularly bothered about the idea that I'm putting a carcinogen on my face when I put my make-up on as I really don't want to make the people that are looking at me suffer while I'm saving my life. Thanks, Dr. Sandra Lance, D.C.P.S. I think this is the group that had the ad for the fellow that delivers veggies and fruits in Atlanta. That has been so great!!! Hi Sandra, I will be happy to send out reminders. I even need to remind myself to live healthy. It is so easy to slip into bad habits. Actually, although my practice is healthcare consulting, and mostly with people who are terminal, I have been getting a lot of calls lately from people who just want me to teach them how to live healthy. They want to know how to do just what you said - maintenance and prevention - try to avoid cancer, and help already existing cancers that we are not aware of. Most of the time, when I consult with people, the families also end up implementing all of the changes. My dad was diagnosed with it in the lung. The oncologist gave him 4 - 6 months, we did a lot of alternatives, and I was able to keep him alive for about 2 1/2 years, but it was not enough. Actually, had he not undergone radiation, he would probably still be here. The last PET scan did not light up the lung, however the radiation caused congestive heart failure, and that is pretty much permanent damage. Although we made some progress, I couldn't fix it. What I learned scared me so badly, that I totally changed my habits and way of life. I did a lecture for a group, and I will be working on a list for them (when I find some time). I will try to throw some things out there while I am working on it. About the makeup, I totally agree - go to www.healthenhance.myarbonne.com The makeup has no chemical dyes or fragrances, and no dangerous mineral oil to absorb, and clog the pores from breathing. We don't have to be plain just to be healthy. We just don't know that most of these things exist. They also have an anti-aging line. Although I like the fact that it softens and reduces wrinkles, I really use it because it puts anti-oxidants right on the skin, and that makes the skin healthier is a deterrent for basal cell carcinoma and melanoma. As for the fruits and vegetables, look at www.pulseparty.com/134153 They have whole foods that are non-processed and non-refined, so none of the nutrients are stripped out, without chemicals, and they are non-GMO. All of the foods are vegetarian, and all but one is vegan. They also fit right into a macrobiotic diet. They are delicious and are delivered right to your door. I have a hard time getting sick people to juice, but they will eat healthy foods if they are good and convenient. Living healthy doesn't have to be difficult, just different. We just change our habits and practices. Guest guest
I wanted to thank you all for posting these things. Recently I told my daughter that we would be taking a trip to "Mother's Market" (a local natural store) to check out the makeup there. I noticed that my eyes started to twitch when I started using a different mascara. Some people told me that my eyes must be "tired", some people told me that I must be sick. Who would have thought to consider the mascara???? But I did! Especially after reading this board for the past year or so - I have been blessed by so many life-changing ideas. I frequently share them with others - but when people are set in their ways, well..... they don't always jump at changing their habits. But I thank you for posting this info and the websites I can order from. Bravo!!!Bjohnsonrn wrote: In a message dated 12/11/2004 9:24:06 A.M.
