Hi Mervyn,I live in NZ and have been taking oleander soup for just over 1 year with no side effects. When youve boiled it down it has to be strained properly through paper hand towels at room temperature to get rid of all vegetation particles. The particles left in the solution could be a source of bacteria. Most often a body starting to get rid of disease/toxicity/bugs etc will feel awful for a while. It can confuse if you havnt been through it before. When I first started oleander my heart raced at times and I had slightly fevered sleep with lurid delirious dreams. That soon evened out and dissapeared. Also because I was juicing green veg and dandelion and milkthistle a bit of diorreah.Raw oleander is highly poisonus and people have died from using oleander sticks at barbeques etc,so you were lucky.I put plastic bags on my hands to cut it up for soup. Now I take a shotglass once a day at dinner, the taste is so awful and food gets rid of the aftertaste.I think it's best taken with food.well that's my twopenneth worth.good luck....Pam

Pam, a shot glass? That's about four times the

recommended dose, after your body has upjusted over

several weeks. You are proof that Ozel's statements

in his patent that too much won't hurt you. I take,

as a preventative, a third of a shot glass daily,

after my evening meal. I'm adjusted. If I skip a few

days, I get constipated, even though I eat lots of

roughage. Ed

Yeah, it's natural taste will not win any wine tasting contests,

that's for sure! That is why it is recommended in my book that you

use a flavoring concentrate. Some use things like boysenberry

flavoring. I have seen some really good natural concentrates recently

at the health food sections at the grocery marktet - like grape, or

grape with grapeseed, or pomegranate.

Shot glasses you say? I take it that Ed and Pam use the vodka as the

preferred preservative. I had several shot glasses myself last night

- just without the oleander.

A warning: the FDA phase one trials that normally establish a safe

dosage amount came nowhere near that amount with Anvirzel. They

limited the dose based more on the practical volume limit for an

injection, so there is quite the margin for error in the recommended

daily dose levesl. The cardiac glycoside oleandrin is a non-polar

(not water soluable) compound, so the amount you get by boiling is

quite tiny. HOWEVER, it does cross assay with digoxin/digatalis and

once you do begin to reach levels that could be dangerous, it is a

pretty steep bell curve. So, the answer is that you CAN take too much.

Stick to the recommeded amounts and you should be just fine.
