Guest guest
Greetings All, I recently joined this group after reading about the medicinal value of Oleander. I have read many of the comments and warnings about contamination causing numbness or tingling of the lips and/or mouth but I hope someone can be a bit more specific about this. I made my first batch of " soup " , carefully following the directions provided here. the only variation was in the filtration. Unbleached paper towels and coffee filters are not available where I live so I was forced to use bleached coffee filters. I filtered the batch 8 times using 2 filters each time. Before taking the first dose, I gave it the lip test; no numbness or tingling. However, after holding about a teaspoon under my tongue for about a minute, it left a mild " sensation " after the initial alcohol burn subsided. I wouldn't call it numbness or tingling, but there was a sensation. It was similar to the sensation that a high quality Echinacea tincture would leave in the mouth though not as intense. I am almost certain that the plant has not been sprayed with anything (people just don't have the money or interest in spraying stray ornamental plants). Is this sensation anything I should be concerned about? I have not experienced any side effects after 3 teaspoon doses over 3 days. I would appreciate any opinions anyone is willing to offer. Thanks much!! Upwards (name withheld due to severe HIV discrimination in my country)
