We recently had cardinals make a nest in our front bushes and I go tot see 3 checks with their eyes still closed! I checked them every day and watched them grow- which took a week!!! I know the mama and papa cardinals were very nervous about us hanging at the nest so much,so i tried to be quick. But they were super cute and holi cannoli they got big fast. And then they flew, just like that...

Now I have an empty nest!! I'm really quite saddened. I hope they come back to nest here next year.

How awesoemt aht you get to watch teh dove! But too bad about the plant...

My grandfather has always had birdhouses. They have the hinged tops so you can peek inside now and then. Yup! It was roughly 10 days form when we first saw them hatched with eyes still closed to when Brian happened to bump into one that was flying and they were gone form the nest, just like that!

Someone said they might even nest/lay again this yr since its always "summer" in FL.

I hope so!! It's a perfectly good nest - i'm sure it can be reused. lol
