Guest guest
Hi everyone, A few weeks ago I bought several 'grab bags' of polished stones and crystals, primarily for the petrified wood they contained. Most are polished slabs or small pieces, a few are unpolished. There are 3 pieces I can't identify, and I'm wondering if anyone here might have an idea or two. The links below are to pics taken of each. The bags came from an elderly gentleman who has polished rocks for years and sells at flea markets and farmers markets all over northern Wisconsin and is retiring at the age of 87. He's planning on enjoying being 'unemployed' for the first time in his life. His wife, who's always along and sells her own craft work says she's going to keep him busy. Yup, I can see it now. ;-) They're two great people! This piece has a profusion of colors, and is translucent in several areas that look whiteish in the pic from the white background showing through. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b300/tgh96/DSCF0163.jpg This one is all greens, some to the yellowish end of the green spectrum with several tiny gold specks in it. Very pretty! http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b300/tgh96/DSCF0165.jpg This one is stark white and dark green. The green looks like mint sauce rippling through very white vanilla ice cream. It looks to be a slice from the edge of a larger rock. http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b300/tgh96/DSCF0168.jpg If anyone knows of a good website the has pics to help ID rocks, could you post a link or a name? I've tried a lot of Google searches but not come up with a really good one yet. Thank you, Tom
