Guest guest
Hi Tina, I wrote this document some time ago for posting on a forum. I hope it helps you. Tom ~~~~~~~~~~ Grounding: The act of releasing negative or excess energy back to Mother Earth. Energy is around us at all times, and can be absorbed by us as a negative influence from others, by the negative situations we sometimes find ourselves in, from our environment and for Lightworkers especially, from the ethereal contact we make with the object of our energy channel. I believe that Earth, or Universal, Energy is neutral, neither positive nor negative but can be either, depending on who/what it is passing through before coming to self. Releasing it back to Mother is recycling it, allowing it to return to it's neutral state, and frees us from the negative influences that it can and does impose on us. For folks who are sensitive enough, negative energy can result in headaches, sometimes severe to the point of migraine, upset stomach, an inability to take nourishment and irritability with others who don't deserve it. It can jumble up our thoughts, cause us to make mistakes in our daily tasks and ruin a perfectly wonderful day. In other words, it really screws us up, both mentally and physically. For most folks, it isn't as severe as described above, but still causes effects that are easily avoidable. An over-abundance of positive energy can also occur, and grounding will return your level to normal. To ground, a person needs to `intend' that the energy is being drawn away from them and it helps if you can focus your intent in that direction. An ability to visualize this `draw' enhances the effectiveness of the exercise. A little practice with the methods below will enhance your ability to ground anywhere at any time. The use of running water helps, but if it's not feasible, a good visualization will work as well. If the grounding is being done after sending energy, it should be preceded by cutting the energy cords between you and the person/object/situation to which you've channeled energy. This first method is very simple and can be done any time you have access to a water faucet. Place your hands under cool running water and visualize the negative energy flowing into the water and dispersing itself into the Earth, drawing all negativity from you and returning it to Mother. The water should be cool and comfortable, there is no need for soap, this is a spiritual cleansing, not a hygienic one. Let the water wash over your hands for as long as you feel is necessary to allow all the excess energy to be drawn away. Another effective and popular way to use water to ground is while showering, and I use it daily. I let the water wash over me and `intend' that all negative energy, thoughts and feelings be dissolved in that water and taken back to Mother Earth. I use this method before my nightly meditation. I meditate outdoors next to a tree, and when I sit down next to it, I visualize roots growing from me deep into the Earth, I `feel' the cool, moist soil welcoming the energy I'm releasing back to Mother. At the same time, I visualize positive energy being drawn in through my crown chakra and filling me with positive feelings and peace. A time of rest but also a time of very positive thoughts. I start my meditation when I feel completely devoid of negativity. I realize that sittin' next to a tree can be unnerving to neighbors (it takes a few weeks to properly break in new ones) so this isn't for everyone, but variations can be used to great success. When I'm in front of my computer preparing to send Reiki with a group, I visualize those same roots while focusing my eyes on a living plant set in a bunch of stones and crystals right next to my monitor. A quick grounding can be done in a park, yard or anywhere you can touch a tree or a rock or plant of some sort. I've grounded by leaning on a tree at a bus stop, touching a plant in an office building, putting my palm on a brick or concrete wall and doing the proper visualization while focusing my intent; this can be done anywhere you feel you can effectively release energy. Practice helps a lot. A favorite of mine when I can't use the methods above, like riding in a car or a bus, in a crowd at a stadium or concert, anywhere there isn't the little bit of nature available to use, is to visualize myself sittin' on the bank of a stream. My stream is deep in a forest, the sun is always shining, dappling the cool, gurgling water and the ground around me with her warm golden rays. The day is warm, the creatures of the forest are going about making their livin', my feet are bare and I'm dangling them in the water, feelin' the coolness and the motion of the sparkling clear liquid as I let go of all negative energy and feelings. Anyone can sit by that stream and recharge for as long as needed. This method has been of use to me since very early in grade school, long before I knew what I was really doing. When I worked in an office, I always kept a picture of a lake on a sunny day above my desk. I could focus on it and put myself right into the scene, grounding as I felt the sun's warmth on my skin and heard/watched the waves washing the shoreline. So in essence, anything you can do to help you release energy that's built up for whatever reason will work. The key is to focus intent and to practice visualization techniques that will help you to ground effectively anywhere at any time. A guy I worked with at one time used a piece of rock he carried to help him ground effectively in his office, another person would touch a small piece of driftwood she kept on her desk. So really, it's whatever will work for you, use your imagination to find the method/s that work the best for you. I hope these scribbles are some small bit of help in accomplishing that goal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ , " realgonekid5 " <selfloveone wrote: > > > > > does anyone know where i can find out about grounding techniques
