Guest guest
Hi, I am a new member, and also new to the study of crystals and minerals. I recently purchased a amythest geode and it arrived damaged. To get to the point, I learned through further observation that the geode was repaired. I had asked a friend what to do, and she told me to get or make a pendelum and ask the crystal if it minded if I fixed it. It seemed to say it was ok, but then someone else said you should NEVER fix a crystal, and I really do not have faith in what the pendelum told me. So, I must tell you that they glued newspaper and epoxy to fix the cluster that fell out, and now I will look at this if I do not repair it. So, with that being said, if it has glue in it anyway what would be the harm in fixing it again? Could it be personal preference? I am beside myself over this. All I know is that I can hardly even look at the geode because I am so hurt that it was fixed up before I got it. I sort of feel that I have been violated, and the geode was violated as well. OK, that is one of my first questions. I will put them out there one at a time. I am very full of questions. Your help is appreciated. Thanks

Guest guest
Have you contacted the seller? I don't know how you purchased this, but if this damage was not in the description perhaps you can request a refund? Guest guest
Well, what I really have to say is, crystals are very tricky! They really have a knack for getting themselves exactly where they are meant to be and perhaps this one is meant to be with your son! He loves it so and the the repair (you can choose to see it as healed instead of broken ) does not influence his enjoyment of it. However, I can't imagine that putting it in a sunny window for a while, or leaving it outside even at the foot of a tree or some favorite spot in your yard wouldn't be useful. I believe, even in perfect condition, that one should always cleanse a new stone or crystal anyway. I wouldn't think it was tainted, but you really should trust your feelings especially if after having it for awhile you still don't feel right with it. As I stated before, it might just be passing through... Jean

Sometimes you can't view things as cosmic design or fate (whatever you choose to call it). I cases such as these you could be just dealing with a dishonest person or at the least an aware person. This person may have received it as a repaired geode and didn't realize and then sells it to you and it breaks during shipping revealing it's secrets. From you other email it sounds like a combination of unaware but also not straightforward and honest. As to cleansing it ... absolutely cleanse it considering what the geode and you have been through in regard to its damages. You might also want to do a small healing meditation for both of you. Repairing it is most definitely a personal matter between you and the geode. So another meditation with the geode for clarity on that answer sounds in order. Guest guest
...So, I need to resolve to fix, or not to fix. Also, should I cleanse this geode? And could I do that with a some white sage? Hi, I'm so sorry to hear about your poor geode. I had a shipment a year or so back and 4 were really badly damaged. I was so heartbroken, they hadn't been mended or fixed, it had happened en route as the pieces were all in the package. All are happy now though I can understand that you feel almost cheated and that they chose you to send this one to? Don't worry I think that if you give your geode some tlc things will be fine. I wouldn't fix or mend anything for a while yet, get to know your crystal. There will be a reason it has come to you now First I would smudge the geode with some white sage, a good hefty waft for a good few minutes, and all the time think about the geode and any bad feelings you have about the whole situation and let those feelings go up in smoke to disappear into the air and be blown away by the breeze. The geode may release any negative energies and feeling of trauma and worry at this time to, so the smoke may be dark. Remember to always have the door open (to let the positive energy in) and a window or another door/exit/vent (to let the negative cleasned energy out) when smudging. Then I would sit and just be with the crystal and close my eyes and visualise and fill the area around you and the crystal with a bright white and golden sunlight that banishes all shadows and darkness. Perhaps place your palms on the geode or whatever feels right. I have no doubt that the geode will need some help and healing energy from you before it can really move on and begin shining again. Then I am sure there will be a long and worthwhile relationship. Peace Crystal xxx
Guest guest
I also have a number of crystals and stones that are chipped, several that have been repaired and they are just as precious to me as an undamaged specimen. One thing I do not do often though, is buy from a merchant I don't know. I'd much rather see and hold a crystal before I buy it. If it 'feels' right, it will come home with me, if it doesn't, it's no big deal. Perhaps you could re-glue the piece and over time come to see the beauty of it. Nothing/no-one is perfect yet we accept these imperfections as part of life. Without any imperfections we'd have a pretty dull world at times and nothing to aspire to. Namaste! Tom A diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections. Guest guest
Stones find us and we are not perfect either personally I'm certain that I'm the equivalent of cracked , chipped and glued in many ways . I disagree with a lot of the so called " enhancements " and won't buy them knowingly. But the abuse that a stone may have received does not prevent it from being a healing stone or a cherished companion stone. Normally I don't glue stones though I have a carved wand which broke along a natural crack line that I swear insisted on being glued. I've also had a good relationship with a garnet and quartz combination though after a while they were unglued and now live separately. I have a small Peri dot which I have been dreaming of as glued to a tumbled quartz for a laying on partner but so far have not glued it I am wondering if one of the carved touch stones would act as a small bowl to hold the peridot during the layout instead but I don't have any of those yet .
