Guest guest
Hello all, I recently had a startling experience and wanted to know if others have had the same. I was drawn to a Rhodonite stone and began working w/ it for a few days. I had read the description in several crytstal books and they have always represented this stone as very benign. I almost immediately began feeling very depressed and " bitter " about people that had hurt me (my ex-) and became so upset I put the stone away and grabbed another stone, (something a pale green, don't know what) and immediately felt a sense of calm. Has anyone had this experience before? Does it mean you need to work w/ the stone and ride it out, or use something else? When I was purchasing the Rhodocrosite, the lady advised me to be aware of the same effect. These reactions were not something I was expecting.... Thanks, Esmel test'; " > Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Esmel - I have had positive experiences with rhodocrosite. The sensation is similar to rose quartz, but with a deeper, warmer nurturing feeling. One of my favorite stones is a rhodocrosite sphere. Guest guest
Hello Esmel - I think as both stones work with the emotions it might be bringing things up to the surface for you to work with more quickly than you might think, especially if you have a good quality piece that is deeper pink with few markings. I do have a rhodonite necklace that I have worn and did find it's energy soothing. However, I don't know how fresh your wound is with your ex, so it sounds like working with a green stone is really good for you right now and perhaps you will find the rhodonite to be easier to integrate. I wonder though if also green calcite or sugilite might assist you with releasing the old feelings of anger as well (just finished workign with the cyrstal questionnaire, I'm not yet that knowledgeable, but I'm sure they would help). It's interesting to see there is synchronicity amongst the board with yet another stone. I was looking over my little stash of stones today, making note of what purchases I want to make, and I started thinking about working with my rhodonite, wanting to place a loose bead from my necklace in my little pouch to wear around my neck with some other heart/emotion stones. I haven't done it yet though, I've got some rose quartz in there right now with my obsidian, some citrine and my herkimer diamond. I had a piece of rutilated quartz in there but started feeling bursts of disturbed feelings and replaced it with the rose quartz which immediately calmed me down. Though I have to say, this little rutilated piece feels a little strange to me, like a piece of lucite more than an actual stone, I may need to pick up something that feels more quartzy! One other thing that I can say from experience, it is quite common and normal to need to put a stone away/take off a necklace after a bit. It's best not to try and force yourself to tolerate the stones energies and allow yourself to acknowledge when you've had your fill for the day. Sometimes one might choose to " ride it through " with the Rhodonite and other times other stones will come forward after the Rhodonite has opened up our awareness. I've also had experiences with Rhodonite that had been previously held by others bringing an image and sharing a bit of the bittersweet , painful or resentful memories of the other person with me so that I was able to incorporate healing work and releasing on these areas during my treatments or communications. Subsequently I've had this Rhodonite stone seem to bring forth more pleasant feelings and memories or trigger a kind of nostalgia at times. These effects may initially seem at odds with the traditional healing properties of Rhodonite but it seems like they do fit in if you read " between the lines so to speak that becoming aware of suppressed feelings and thoughts which impede us from living in unconditional love and calmness etc. may often be an essential part of the process of becoming and being the loving beings we aspire to be. As a living being the stone itself has free will and can choose to help us in the way that best serves our true needs Rhodonite like many pink stones Has a connection with Quan Yin energies while we may associate Mercy with a kind of wimpy fluffy forgiveness in fact true mercy often includes the clear shock of revelation and is expressed in revealing and guiding us to face things about ourselves we might have wanted to ignore or deny. Conventional descriptions properties of Rhodonite are often similar to that below " Works with the practical aspects of our feelings and has a greater grounding effect than other pink stones, Helps expression of confidence , love , calms , protects against nightmares, eases stress, heals the emotional pain of loss Works with heart chakra; helps us express confidence and lovingness Calms and feeds the soul through the heart. Soothes nightmares. Stress, heartache, loss, etc. Very good for speech and hearing problems. Eases Asthma suffering, stone of grace and elegance. It decreases anxiety while increasing attention to detail. It works beneficially on the heart chakra, opening one to unconditional love and increased service to mankind. It is also a calming stone. Rhodonite is also a stone of contrasts. The bright pinks indicate energy that enhances passionate love. The shiny black indicates grounding energy. This stone can help one have a passionate love that is also grounded. Physically it has been known to help with emphysema, joint inflammation, light sensitivity, strep throat and heart disorders. " . Guest guest
Many thanks, Renau. I think I will work w/ it less and/or maybe try a smoky quartz or citrine w/ it. renaumoon wrote: In a message dated 4/12/2006 8:11:08 PM Eastern Standard Time, witch_esmel writes: > I almost immediately began feeling very depressed and " bitter " about people > that had hurt me (my ex-) and became so upset I put the stone away Rhodonite is more rock like and opaque pink with black and white flecks. Guest guest
Thanks Lahna. I think both stones are telling me to work w/ them, but maybe less intensely. Just curious, but have you ever noticed working w/ a stone, say at the Full Moon, that maybe the reaction was amplified because of the moon energies, as opposed to a new moon? Maybe certain intense stones should not be worked on when lunar energies are peaking, since this can amplify the harshness of the purging process. A theory I have been pondering... That cannot be gauged in our human consciousness time frame. Many factors will be involved in the amount of time it takes as well, how often and how deeply/intensely you allow things to get will certainly factor in. You could also have other issues surface that are beneath this layer of work you have to do. While not directly linked issues may possibly link in some essence (recent hurts that had the same impact on you as childhood hurts sort of thing) We all have our karma to work through and certain things will keep attracting us to a certain situation type until we open to the learning from that situation. Once we have opened to that it can bring back all past lessons of the same sort for us to finish working through as well. (I hope this makes sense. Being in my brain is not always easy for others! Guest guest
Hello again Esmel - Excuse me for creating a bit of confusion in my post. I was thinking about an emotional blend to include rhodonite but I haven't created it yet, I was just thinking about it at that time and thought that was where I was heading. Citrine I always use because that always makes me feel good, I love my little citrine points Regarding green v. pink stones for the emotions, the green ones offer healing and energy, while the pink can actually be quite stirring at times, as their role is to purify the emotional body so they cause you to express what needs to come up if you've got something you need to work with or release but then they are right there to soothe you. As for my obsidian adventure, I went to my closest metaphysical shop yesterday in search of stones and realized that yes I did in fact have a piece of onyx, which I still like. I picked up a nice piece of obsidian with some other stones and I actually find it quite nice, nothing to be afraid of. I feel it as something that will help me release any lingering fears I have over really being myself. That is interesting information about the fairies, I haven't studied them directly, but I am aware that I'm aware when they're around but it's like something that's running in the background, if that makes sense? Consciously, I've been focused on the ascenion energies and ascended masters realms. One time though I did see a little person in my back yard when I lived in CT. He was in a funny bent over position, and turned back into what anyone normally would perceive as a rock it seemed as soon as he realized I could see him, he felt startled to me that I had been able to perceive him. What's interesting is that this was a large stone that people always wanted be be with, to sit on and congregate around, several people also have used it for comfort when they were upset and needed to be alone. We always played back in that part of the yard when we were young. There was another large rock like that in our front yard, but we didn't sit with it as much. I grew up in southern NY state and CT and really have a strong sense of fairy and gnome and nature spirit energy there. I know they are everywhere, but from my time in AZ I had more of a feeling of an angelic and ET presence, though I know that they are everywhere as well. I will be more conscious of any future feeling to work with anything green and acknowledge their energies. I almost bought some green aventurine yesterday, but put it back. Maybe they are trying to rekindle my early memories of being more connected to myself. TTFN, Jean
Guest guest
Hello Jean, Thanks for your interesting post! I don't know too much about obsidian but have recently noted that it comes in pastel colors, yellow and peach/red at our gem shop. I've not been attracted to the dark, or black stones (my energy is a little lighter). I did combine the Rhodonite w/ a smoky quartz and noticed I did have some feelings emerge but not as intense as before. I was thinking that the full moon might have amplified these energies the first time I used this stone. I wonder if anyone has tried this, I sometimes use a photograph of someone and put stones on the chakras for healing. I did this w/ my Mom (she said it helped a little), my dog (he has chronic kidney disease) and is doing sooo much better, and yesterday w/ myself. For myself, I am meditating w/ the Rhodonite, but I have a picture of myself w/ smoky quartz around to draw the negativity away. I guess the symbolism for me is to transmute the negativity when it comes up. This is sort of a passive method since I can't meditate every minute and I don't carry the stones w/ me all the time. I noticed yesterday before I went to bed, that I did have a slight burning sensation in my heart chakra region. I frequently have these sensations when meditating w/ stones, particularily w/ green and now pink stones. I have also had the slight burning sensation in my 3rd chakra, but never in the others. That is interesting about your fairy/gnome experience. I haven't actually seen one but I'm feeling that they are very close by. The veil, I believe, is thin right now w/ the May fest coming up. Have a wonderful holiday. Esmel Jean <jfish1754 wrote: Hello again Esmel - Excuse me for creating a bit of confusion in my post.
