Trying to identify this quartz... can anyone help?

Hello

 

I just joined the group... and I was hoping someone could help me

identify a crystal a friend found at flea market.

Let me describe. It a quartz crystal that comes out of a mass and has

a six point staff, its solid milky white quartz.. almost solid white

like a chalk (non see through) but shiny. (bare with me) For lack

of better words I could just say " six point milky quartz " but I am

trying to find out if this has another name... I was hoping it was

ajoite.. but I dont see any blue within. There are a few smaller ones

sticking out. same (6 points). I have to say that when she handed it

over to me it had orange sediment (almost like someone used a magic

marker) on it that needed to be really scrubbed of with brillo (iron

residue?) Anyway its not on there any more and my hand hurts. lol. If

its a " healing quartz " I will be its first subject.

So thats everything in a nutshell. Can anyone help me identify this?
