Black Quartz

I have just been looking a piece of black quartz and can't remember

what the person in the shop told me about its qualities. Can anyone

here enlighten me please, so far google has helped much. It is

definitely black.

Caroline,

 

Be careful. There is a quartz from Arkansas that is basically dead

quartz that is black...

and sold as a form of Smokey Quartz. It is really just a low grade

quartz that has

been irradiated until it turns black as coal.

 

It would be grounding.. but pretty icky energy.

Hello John,

Thank you for the information - I bought the piece before reading this

and feel quite concerned that I may have a " bad " piece. As a beginner

how would I know this, how would icky energy feel ? what signs would

there be that this is coming from this piece ?
