Guest guest
It is good to read the following two Articles to understand how the Govt and the Corporates are working hand in gloves to trample upon the rights of individual citizens and to snatch away their livelihood. A big question: Where are we leading to and how do we stop carnages -one after the other. vns  Chidambaram's police at work again !!! Posted by: " Sankar Ray "  sankar.ray Tue Apr 27, 2010 10:50 pm (PDT) Dear friendsThe Union Minister of Home Affairs,Mr Palaniappan Chidambaram, is a legal heavywight. He knows how to flout the law of the land.Everywhere - be it Dantewada and Delhi. The latest is the manner arrest of Gopal Mishra,Pradeep, Anu and one more -all Trade Union activists - by the Delhi police cell. On 25th evening, Special cell of police reached Gopal Mishra's sresidence st Ramnagar Nathu Colony East Delhi at 11 am and waited until his wife Anu 's arrival, according to their landlord Ritesh Kumar. Pradeep is also a Trade Union activist at Okhla. the Police haven't officially announced the arrests officially. They were, the landlord said, taken to Defence Colony PS. Delhi police is under Home ministry. PC's chagrin against the development model, tried out in India between 1947 and 1970, and his slanderous accusation and ire against the trade unions was explicit in his Harvard Lecture.Let me quote from it. " For well over three decades after independence, India adopted a dirigiste model of economic development. The State was the principal driver of theeconomy and the economy itself remained closed to the rest of the world. Inthose thirty years, Indias GDP grew at an average rate of 3.5 per cent. I call those years the lost decades. That model exacted a price. It also left a legacy that, to this day, remainsa heavy burden. The socialist jargon had pervaded all walks of life and, especially, all economic activity..... " Indias mineral resources include coal the fourth largest reserves in theworld. Iron ore, manganese, mica, bauxite, titanium ore, chromite, diamonds, natural gas, petroleum and limestone. Common sense tells us that we should mine these resources quickly and efficiently. That requires hugecapital, efficient organizations and a policy environment that will allowmarket forces to operate. None of these factors is present today in the mining sector. The laws in this behalf are outdated and Parliament has beenable to only tinker at the margins. Our efforts to attract privateinvestment in prospecting and mining have, by and large, failed. Meanwhile, the sector remains virtually captive in the hands of the State Governments.Opposing any change in the status quo are groups that espouse quitelegitimately the cause of the forests or the environment or the tribal population. There are also political parties that regard mining as a naturalmonopoly of the State and have ideological objections to the entry of theprivate sector. They garner support from the established trade unions. Behind the unions either known or unknown to them stand the tradingmafia. The result: actual investment is low, the mining sector grows at atardy pace and it acts as a drag on the economy. The kindness of Ratan Tata !!! Posted by: " Priyanka Borpujari "  aa.priyanka Tue Apr 27, 2010 11:29 pm (PDT) Good morning! This is a story about a nation on its way to be an industrial superpower. But ever heard of a super power being built on the pyres of men, women andchildren? See it for yourself. Kalinga Nagar in Orissa has been the victim of incessant oppression by avery 'benevolent', 'philanthropic' company which we all know by the name ofTata. Yes, the same company run by a gentleman whose morose look seen in the newspapers after his Taj Hotel in Mumbai was ravaged, drove many among us to'tears'. But what we haven't seen is the sinister modus operandi of thiscompany in grabbing the lands of thousands of villagers in Orissa and Chhatitisgarh, for mining purposes. In 2006, 14 people in Kalinga Nagar protesting against their land from beinggrabbed were shot dead. Currently, as this you read this, three familiemourn the death of their loves ones. No, they were not shot dead. The three people were ailing from different illnesses but since the area has beencompletely cordoned off, the patients could not get out of the area fortreatment. The area has been cordoned off as Tata and the local police do not want any resistance by the villagers, who are protesting against theirland grab. Not even media is allowed there. Thus, Ratan Tata's 'kindness'killed three ailing people.Check this video before you choose to delete this mail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeYiHN7ZE4A This video was shot by anactivist-filmmaker friend who managed to sneak into Kalinga Nagar just before sun rise. Mainstream media will not write about it - after all, wheredo you think does it get its revenues and ads from?Perhaps you can ask yourself one question: *WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOUR AILINGFAMILY MEMBER DIED BECAUSE THE ROADS WERE BLOCKED AND YOU COULD NOT REACH THE HOSPITAL, AS SOME COMPANY DID NOT WANT YOU TO WALK ON THE ROAD WHERE YOUHAVE GROWN UP?*Think about it. Spread this link. Spread the word around about the'benevolent' facade of the Tatas. And if you still don't trust the words in this mail (I don't want you to trust it unless you question yourself) thenmake an attempt to go to Kalinga Nagar and see for yourself. Yes, it doesn'tmatter if someone else is dying. But would it matter it the same happened to you? And no, you are not safe either.priyanka borpujari+91-9820741992www.priyanka-borpujari.blogspot.com -- Dr.V.N.SharmaCell No.9431102680,http://tinyurl.com/drvnsharmaMember, Secretariat, All India Forum for Right to Education (AIF-RTE) (In complete opposition to the RTE Act 2009 & Foreign Educational Institutions Bill 2010) ****शिकà¥à¤·à¤¾ नहीं कोई कारोबार, यह है जनता का अधिकार* *सबको शिकà¥à¤·à¤¾ à¤à¤• सामान, मांग रहा है हिंदà¥à¤¸à¥à¤¤à¤¾à¤¨* *** " Those who have the privilege to know, have the duty to act.
