crystal dowsing

Hello,

I have real problems dowsing. I can't get to a crystal shop to find a

pendulum that suits me, though I have read that anything on a string

can be made into a dowser with some practice. I have therefore been

trying with different crystals in a wire cage and tied to some string.

I cannot get the crystals to turn to even answer simple questions for

which I know the answer for. They change direction but not for correct

answers. Can anyone advise on what I can do to get them to work? Or

find the right crystal for me for the dowsing?

Also does dowsing and scanning drain you of energy?

Aloha Anjani

Pendulums conduct the electrical flow that runs through everything in the

Universe, so do not drain one of energy. Allowing to swing freely gives them

the opportunity to choose between positive and negative.

I've met some for whom wooden or metal pendulums seem to be the 'right'

material. Beyond that other factors effecting use may be:

Your body being too low in water content. As water conducts electricity

throughout body, being even slightly dehydrated can affect use.

Wearing electronic appliances such as watches, carrying digital cameras, etc.

can interfere, so try removing. Being to near a computer can affect response,

too.

Using dominant hand is recommended. If you are left handed, use that hand,

not the right.

Holding pendulum in position so that it can swing freely important.

Hand should be positioned higher than elbow. When I use pendulum in lower

that elbow position, my correct directions are reversed. Same thing also

happens if I use pendulum while sitting down with legs crossed.

Locate someone nearby or at local rock or metaphysical store that has some

experience and ask them to share their techniques. Every ones 'correct method

seems to vary slightly.

I find that pendulum seems to work quickest when I place non-dominant hand

below the pendulum with palm open.

I have an 8 page print out that I can forward to you as an attachment on

request.

Pendulums can be great tools, but are a few that I've met that pendulum just

doesn't seem to work who end up preferring to use other polarity testing methods

such as muscle testing and those who prefer just to use their own intuition.

Hello Rebecca,

Yes I did cleanse the stones, asked simple questions like 'am I wearing blue?',

I tried sorting out the yes and no, but they always do clockwise or anti

clockwise circles or a sort of left/right swinging. But the same question or

question with same answer didn't produce the same swinging.

I haven't tried it with a chart. Where would I get one of those?

Also since I have seen a quartz crystal in a copper fitting on the internet, I

have wanted one of those, but I have no idea whether it is just desire or

whether its my intuition saying that that is the right one for me? They are

expensive and since I can't get any pendulum to behave, I'm not sure if I'd be

wasting my money. Have you any ideas on the (heavy) quartz/copper pendulums?

Ideally how long should the string be? I used twine, should I have used natural

cotton fibred string?

Also if I ask the reiki to answer will that prevent my own energy from being

consumed?

Regarding reply from 'HEART OF MAUI'

I usually sit on the floor cross legged to do my dowsing, and often rest my

elbow on my knee. Do these things interfere then with the dowsing? Should the

dowsing be over a certain surface eg wood, wool blanket etc to avoid

interference?

Sorry for the number of questions...but I really want to get this perfected. So

many times I and my husband have wanted a wise/divine answer rather than just

our limited decision making.

Aloha Anjani and others . . It's been a while since I've had a noisy young one,

but remember that getting up a little earlier than everyone else gave me a few

minutes of silence and may give you the ability to 'center' a little.

to those not able to be instructed by someone already skilled in use. Go to her

site, then to How to Use Pendulum link in left column. I formatted into 8 page

printable version that I give on request to those requesting at our booth. To

answer your other questions. . .

There is a simple chart at Linda's site. There are also many books published

that are complete books of charts that you may be able to find through Google

or Amazon. You can also make your own chart by drawing a circle and dividing it

pie shaped with possible answers to your question, including 'don't know'. The

more specific or concise the question the more likely a 'true' answer.

Intuition may be the guiding you to the quartz and copper, only way to know is

to try it. We sold many pendulums this past weekend. After guiding someone in

learning to find their correct directions (they are not the same for everyone)

we usually have them ask " Is this the correct pendulum for me?'

Most pendulums have chains that are from 6-10 inches and are held so that 4-5

inches is used from area where held to point of pendulum.

I have never heard of twine being used. Metal is a natural conductor of

electricity and runs energy faster than the mineral (quartz, etc.) itself, so is

very likely a factor in having difficulty in getting a clear response. Try

using any pendant with substantial weight on a necklace chain. I've even used

car keys in a pinch because they dangle freely and have enough weight to

respond. Having an expensive pendulum is not necessary. Most are purchased

for ease and convenience of being able to carry in purse or wear in pouch.

Neither Reiki or pendulum use consume energy. They conduct energy. Energy can

be transferred, transmuted, amplified and but can never be destroyed. The

intent with reiki and all healing modalities is to remove blockages, so that

energy can flow freely. If the experience of using crystal becomes draining,

using a pendulum correctly can assist in knowing where those blockage are.

Yes, the position of you body can make a huge difference. In addition to using

the pendulum to allow the free flow of energy through the pendulum, there needs

to be a free flow of energy throughout the body, hence the advice that being

dehydrated can affect pendulum use. The positioning of the hand higher than the

elbow makes a huge difference for me.

hand? Reason for asking... I'm a total klutz and am just barely getting to the

point I feel confident pendulum energy. I would be struggling for coordination

[read: perfomance anxiety] if doing it with my left hand. Curious as to what

others have experienced with regard to which hand to use.

Aloha Kathy and All. . . .That was an oopppss! I should have written use the

DOMINANT hand to hold the pendulum. And the NON dominant hand under the

pendulum. My apologies to anyone who this affected. As with all things, try

the given guidelines, usually based on scientific principles and experiment to

directions may be slight, but they will definitely appear and usually increase

Normally I use my right hand to hold the pendulum, but in other modalities I

will use both hands, to " channel " energy. I am ambidextrous, even though I

mostly use my right hand for writing, I can also write with my left hand and it

is very legable. I do use my left hand for many tasks more than most people.

Strange I know.

Greetings Anjani,

(I do so love you name ... it is such a beautiful name and I would love to know

what it means if there is a translation for it)!

My personal preference for pendulums is to use a pendant as folks have already

suggested. This is a two-fold reason: One: I wear pendants daily, thus I always

have a potential pendulum at my finger tips if and when I need one. Tow: As a

pendant, it is worn closer to your heart then carrying a pendant in your pocket

or purse and I feel that the pendant/pendulum then picks up and resonates with

your energies much better and on a stronger level.

I will dispute the thread verses metal opinion that was given. I have used as

pendulums?with plenty of success pendants on leather thongs or even cord (nylon

or perhaps silk). I have not had any difficulties when it was not a metal based

chain that the pendulum was suspended from. Again this is my own experience.

If you REALLY want a quartz crystal in copper pendulum, you can easily make your

own with a quartz point and copper wire. Wire wrapping crystals is very easy to

learn and when you make your own tools, that adds even ore of your own energy

and intention to the tool in question and thus making it perform better for you.

I am not sure where you live but the crafts stores that are local to me sell

copper wire and you could surely find it online as well. A third option (and

usually more cost effective) is the electrical wire department in your local

hardware store or home improvement center. They usually have all kinds of copper

stuff for crafting tools with - the plumbing department for copper pipe (or is

it a wand) and couplings (or is it something to hold a crystal point on the end

of a wand?)?.... oops sorry went off on a little save-money-crafting tangent ;-)

You misunderstood what Skye was saying. You dominant hand is holding the

pendulum, your receptive hand is under the pendulum palm facing up, so that the

pendulum is swing over the palm of your receptive hand.

Like your cost saving idea! I had never thought of that - hardward section.

Thongs? boy or boy do you have an imagination!! I have used a nechlace chain

from the dollar store (it has red and purple beads on it and hooked it to a

pendulum as well as I have used an old hair ribbon. I keep a couple of items

that I can use as pendulums in my car. I have held my car keys at my side when

someone is talking to see if they are telling the truth. In a pinch I have used

my own nechlace and car keys.

My first (beginning) pendulum was a small gold one on a string and a book.. The

string finally worn out and I had to replace it. But it is one of my favorite

pendulums. By the way solid ones like my brass can be cleaned very easily by

gently hitting it up against the wall. Or just intent will do. (Do not put

metal in salt water to clean as you would regular stones)

I just recently purchased a stone to use as a pendulum and we are making the

" string " , I used an old earring loop and some stuff from some old jewelry.

Used this to assist with my own energy. This will be my personal pendulum.

The one thing I have never heard was to put your other hand under the pendulum.

I will try this. Ususally I have it over idems of choice (warning - they like

to show and they definately have their own opinions!) usually things that would

be for the highest good for me. But when at home I mostly use a chart unless it

is clearly just a yes or no answer.

I have seperate ones that I use for readings. But mostly I use the chart.. I

have a chart, that isn't just yes and no, it has numbers, letters, and other

things like - interferrence, not enought information, etc.
