Guest guest
Reiki is universal life force energy given thru the laying on of hands..most are certified..and receive attunements..is she's calling herself a reiki healer she should have taken a course and had the energy transfered from her teacher to her..the energy should feel either warm to hot..to tingly..if you have a specific area to focus on that helps..if you felt it was a waste than maybe you shouldn't have to paid for it and got a sample instead..depends on how long the session was..i am a certified reiki master teacher..when ever i give reiki usually i try to get feedback to see what the person feels..maybe they didn't spend enough time with you..i would suggest going to a reiki share to really experience it..most are free and most will be happy to talk to you.. blessings.. Guest guest
From all I've read here, Reiki has a major part in healings and....well, EVERYTHING just about. Please forgive my ignorance; I've only had one Reiki healing at a " Spiritual Awareness Fair " . I didn't and don't know what to think about that experience. I lay on a massage table and---well I don't KNOW WHAT she did. I saw a bit of what she did for the person who came before me.....based on that, I THINK she was trying to Fluff My Aura at one point. I use to have a friend who'd work on my aura and she'd do the " fluffing " thing and it felt really good. I knew nothing about ANYTHING at that time. I'd never heard the word Aura even, so I didn't know WHAT she was doing. I just knew it was a new sensation and experience for me, that it felt energizing and just made me feel happy and feel great. Anyway, back to the Reiki healer-- I tried to be very still and go inward and wait to feel SOMEthing.....I don't know what I was suppose to feel. I only know I felt nothing except for feeling like I'd wasted $35. I felt like she was someone who just decided to call herself a Reiki Healer and make some fast, seemingly easy, cash. I mean, you can't really get up off the table and say, " I received no healing. I felt nothing. There was nothing going on, Can I please have my money back? " can you? What WAS I suppose to have felt, experienced or gained through Reiki? And you CAN " T really establish whether or not you've had a healing if you gained nothing from it, can you? Hearing from you, my friends, here, I believe Reiki IS real. I would like to understand. Also, again I only have myself to work with healing-wise; is it possible to do Reiki on one's self? " Jackie If someone had told me a year ago that I would become a Reiki Master/Teacher I would have thought it was a joke. I knew nothing of Reiki. But the past year I have been awakening. At the very least, you should have felt some sort of heat from the Reiki experience, even if the person was not touching you and only had her hands above you. The practitioner can feel when the Reiki " switches on " . Sometimes it will switch on when we are just near someone in need of healing. For me it's a tingly, pins and needles sensation. Unfortuately there are many folks out there now that proclaim they do Reiki and they have just read about it from a book or the internet. You might be able to find a person new to Reiki that wants to practice for a small fee or even free. Reiki Shares are great too, but in my area they are only open to Reiki students. Guest guest
There is no " suppose to " or " should " when it comes to what you feel when you are giving or reciving a Reiki treatment. Some feel nothing at all. Some feel heat, warmth, tingles, or cold. Some see colors. Sometimes people are so busy worrying what they should feel and searching for that feeling that they are just not allowing it to flow into them and really do not get much in the form of a Reiki treatment. We can overanalyze and be too " in the head " and not " in the moment " . Sometimes it is an issue of not letting someone else come that " close " to us. When you do not let someone " in " because you are not comfortable you will not receive a treatment session either. Some tend to throw up sheilds, or have shields to keep negative energy out. Shielding is good, but does not make a note of the difference of positive destructive energy and negative destructive energy and thus will keep even the positive destructive energy (healing) out. So, if you gained nothing, first ask yourself if you were overthinking, shielding, not comfortable? Gaining nothing is also a lesson. The other options are: that this person is new to performing Reiki treatment sessions; that person was not actually an attuned Reiki Practioner. A recommendation: Leave expectations at the door. Just BE. Let it flow through you. Be willing to let it heal and go where it needs to go. Patience. Also remember that sometimes we are prone to wanting things instantly, the nature of our society/culture, and that is not always the case when Reiki is working at a source issue, sometimes it is not felt or seen immediatly and takes time. You could have given the person working on you a head's up while she was working on you and tell her you are feeling nothing. Some people who perform Reiki treatments really appreciate feedback. Feedback helps us to become better at what we do, no matter what it is. It is not only possible but, by many teachers, a must to perform a Reiki treatment session, even if it isn't a full one, every day on oneself. To this day I do this at least once a day. It is necessary to practice all the time as that is how we learn. You can try getting a distance treatment. You can also try to find a Reiki Share in your area; often this is free because this is where Reiki students/practioners practice on each other and others who come in for the treatment session. This is a place to let them know what you feel/felt as many want feedback to let them know how they are doing. Good Luck. HOpe this helped a bit. Blessings....
