Guest guest
Lavender Sugar Cookies A sweet little sugar cookie that is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. 5/8 cup butter 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 egg, beaten 1 tablespoon dried Angustifolia lavender flowers (Crushed well) 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 cup of granulated sugar 1 teaspoon of crushed dried or 2 teaspoons of crushed fresh Angustifolia lavender flowers Preheat oven to 350º F. Cream the butter and 1/2 cup sugar together. Stir in the beaten egg. Mix the tablespoon of dried crushed lavender and flour together and add to the sugar blend. Drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheets. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden. While still warm, stir the 1 or 2 teaspoons of fresh or dried lavender flowers with the 1/4 cup of sugar and sprinkle on top of cookies. Quick Tip: You can shortcut this recipe by making the lavender sugar in advance. Then purchase plain sugar cookies from the refrigerated section in your grocery store. Just cut the cookies, bake according to package directions, and add the lavender sugar when warm from the oven. A tasty gourmet cookie in half the time!
