Guest guest
A mixture of beer and water (about 40% Beer, 60% Water) works because Aphids aren't heavy drinkers . Just put the mixture in a spray bottle and spray the plant once a day. Other than that, a Q-tip with Vodka or Rubbing Alcohol, applied directly on the Aphid definitely does the trick as well. Guest guest
Hi Diana - I also use the hose to wash the little suckers off any plants they think they should destroy. Guest guest
-I just use soapy water ......and I dont have to spray daily. I do it about once a week. If it rains tho of course you have to reapply. But it works great! -- In , " Diana " <joseanddiana wrote: > > A mixture of beer and water (about 40% Beer, 60% Water) works because > Aphids aren't heavy drinkers . Guest guest
You could always invest in some Ladybugs, too. You get them from your local feed store. I usually put them out a couple times a year. Turn them loose near your trouble spot, make sure there is a source of water close. If you turn them loose at night, they will find a place to sleep in your garden. They eat aphids, whitefly and other pests, I even turned them loose in a few of my interior landscape accounts. LOL You can use praying mantis also, but in my case, the little old secretaries will take an elevator down 8 stories to turn a ladybug loose. If I turned praying mantis loose, there would be a free-for-all in the old granny department, and probably ER as well.CLICK DAILY TO FEED AN ANIMAL IN NEED FOR FREE: http://www.animalrescuesite.com/
