Guest guest
>Can anyone tell me a good substitute for Helichrysum - for mucus >My husband is a great stress carrier and is now working 15 hour days >5-6 days a week, stress=colds for him always, and he is highly prone >to plueresy, and falls fast. We have had great success when he gets a >cold and use Helichrysum in a massage blend, withing hours he is >coughing up all the mucus in his lungs , he asked me to order some >as everyone in the office has a cold - but he hasn't seen the price - >alittle is worth the price of avoiding a hospital stay, so I will >order it if I can't find a substitute. I just find the above really interesting. now...I truly believe that Corsican Helichrysum is THE most healing essential oil that exists... but I've not ever thought to use it as a decongestant. the absolute BEST oil for loosening up a tight, dry cough...for letting the mucous MOVE and letting you cough it up... is Inula graveolens... another Corsican oil... the problem is...it's twice as expensive as Helichrysum italicuum from Corsica... if the heli works for you...then you'd probably best bite the bullet and snag some. Guest guest
I knew it was a expensive oil, but had not purchased it alone, it came as one of the oils profiled in my aromatherapy foundation course. I don't know the pain of pluersy, but sitting next to my husband and hearing what sounded like golf balls bouncing around in his chest was scary, he didn't want to go to the Dr. until the morning, everyone in my family is allergic to OTC medicines & can't get the man to take a pill for anything not even tylenol. I really just intended to make him feel better with a massage to easy the back pain he was complaining of - it is listed for mucus in my text,(bruises, inflamation and muscle pain primary) neither of us expected him to sit up in the middle of the night and not to be gross but what came out of his lungs was amazing. The Dr. confirmed the next day still some fluid in his lungs but he was feeling much better - they gave him antibiodics, but he wanted to repeat the massage and never took the antibiodics. I don't know maybe it was a combo of the EO and circulation but it worked- your right I should just stick with it. Thank-you Gea now...I truly believe that > Corsican Helichrysum is THE most healing essential oil that exists... > > but I've not ever thought to use it as a decongestant. > > the absolute BEST oil for loosening up a tight, dry cough...for letting the > mucous MOVE and letting you cough it up... is Inula graveolens... another > Corsican oil... > > the problem is...it's twice as expensive as Helichrysum italicuum from > Corsica... > > > if the heli works for you...then you'd probably best bite the bullet and > snag some. > > > > Your source for superb Essential Oils, Aromatherapy > Accessories, Information, Books and more! > Visit us at: <http://www.naturesgift.com>
Guest guest
y'all are so very good. i was wondering if you could help me with something. with all the talk of sensitivity, i was wondering if you could use helichrysum in 10% rosehip oil, neet? some times it takes me a bit and after applying it neet, i thought about this. my husband has a heel spore and i thought i'd try it mixed with black pepper oil and vitamin E oil. it seems to be working wonders for him and he's decided that i need to rub his feet every night with this. he is a mail carrier and his route is 13 miles long. of course, who wouldn't want their feet rubbed after a walk like that! deb c *i see that i've wrote heel spore, i mean spur. Guest guest
Helichrysum Also known as Everlasting or Immortelle Botanical name Helichrysum italicum /ECO/France/flowers Helichrysum is more anti-inflammatory than German Chamomile, more tissue regenerating than Lavender, more cicatrisant (helping the formation of scar tissue) than Frankincense. Along with Frankincense, Myrrh, Spikenard, and Rose, Helichrysum ranks as one of the most ancient and valuable healing substances. It heals physical and emotional scarring, opens the heart, connects body and spirit, and opens human beings to spiritual life. Use Helichrysum for: Wounds and scar tissue Helichrysum is the oil of choice for healing scar tissue, whether from a recent wound, operation, or tissue that has been scarred for years. From " The Aromatherapy Book " by Jeanne Rose " This oil is said to have anti-viral activities and it is effective in stimulating production and protection of new cells. The regenerative effect is also apparent in minimizing and smoothing scar tissue when mixed with Wild Rosehip seed oil(Rosa rubiginosa). These oils are suited for external application. Helichrysum oil is very valuable for skin-care preparations to regenerate the skin and at the same time is totally non-irritating. Applied neat to bruises as soon as possible, the bruise will usually not form and the oil will prevent swelling and discoloration. " It stops bleeding, helps a scab to form and tissue to repair itself. It can be added to a carrier oil and applied to stretch marks, acne scars, surgical scars, and wounds of all kinds. Skin care products - Add Helichrysm to skin care products for it's skin-rejuvenating properties. It also has remarkable effects on sensitive and inflamed skin. Healing of emotional scarring - Add to a blend for diseases where there is an emotional etiology, particularly addictions and heart disease. Use in counseling to bring to the surface feelings that have been denied. Addictions - This oil helps one detox from alcohol, drugs, and nicotine, releasing the body and mind from addictive patterns. Coronary complaints & phlebitis - Helichrysum opens the flow of subtle heart energies. Rub a blend on the heart area. Its anti- inflammatory and tissue regenerating properties also help repair swollen or weak veins. Spiritual growth - Helichrysum's ability to heal emotional scarring, enhance the flow of subtle heart energy, and connect the body with spirit makes it an invaluable aid for spiritual growth http://www.aromathyme.com/essentialoils2.html
