Guest guest
FLORAL WATER Floral Water is water to which essential oils have been added. Here's a basic Floral Water recipe: In a 4 oz. glass bottle, add 1/2 teaspoon of Vodka Add 20 drops of your favorite essential oil & shake vigorously Let rest for 30 minutes or more Add distilled or purified water leaving a little space a the top. Shake vigorously. Allow mixture to sit in cool, dark location for at least one week. Voila! You now have a natural, fresh floral water! Shake before dispensing. Floral waters have a limited shelf life, so only make as much as you will use in a week or two. To extend shelf life for several weeks, keep toilet water in the refigerator. Floral waters are wonderful used on the skin as a toner. Rose, Lavender and Neroli (orange blossom) are typically used as toners for enhancing the complexion. Simply moisten a cotton ball and gently wipe the skin, while only patting around the delicate eye area. Floral waters may also be added to bath water to impart a delicate floral scent or splashed on after a shower. Or they may be used as the fluid in the recipe for facial masks. Another lovely way to utilize floral waters is to mist them onto the skin for instant hydration. Spraying a floral mist and then applying your favorite cream or oil will help the skin absorb the cream or oil more deeply. No matter how you use floral waters, you will experience a lovely light scent and the signature essence of the original plant.
