Guest guest
LOTIONS & CREAMS Another way to nurture yourself is to create soothing and healing lotions and moisturizing creams. A simple way to do this is to buy a fragrance-free lotion or cream (available at health food stores) and add 20 drops of essential oils per ounce of the product. If your skin is especially dry, add 20 drops of essential oil per ounce of a base oil such Young Living V-6 Vegetable Mixing Oil, a perfect blend of organic vegetable oils including sesame seed, grapeseed, sweet almond, wheat germ, sunflower and vitamin E. After stepping out of the bath or shower, apply the skin oil to wet skin and gently rub. The water combined with the oil deeply moisturizes dry skin. Oily skin responds to Bergamot, Clary Sage, Cypress, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, Orange and Ylang Ylang For dry skin use Rosewood, Sandalwood, Patchouly (good for wrinkles), Rose Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Chamomile (inflamed skin) and Davana (chapped skin), and the blend called Gentle Baby Sensitive skin loves German Chamomile, Rose Geranium, Jasmine and Lavender For aging skin use Young Living Sandalwood Moisture Cream and Sandalwood Toner (I love the toner! Leaves my skin feeling moisturized even before putting on the cream!) For cellulite use Grapefruit (dissolves), Cypress, Rosewood, Cedarwood, Tangerine (dissolves), Basil, Juniper, Lemon, Orange, Patchouly, Rosemary, Sage or Fennel For an all-purpose body and hand lotion use either Sensation Hand and Body Lotion (with Vitamin E, moisturinzing and protecting) or Satin Body Lotion (with Vitamin C, E and A, also good for scars, burns, rashes, itching and sunburn) For tanning use Young Living Sunsation Suntan Oil, which naturally filters out harmful UV rays without blocking the absorption of vitamin D. If you have sunburn, cool and moisturize the skin with LavaDerm Cooling Mist. Aloe vera and lavender provide wonderful relief!
