LOW BACK PAIN AND THE GENTLE TOUCH

by Paul Newcomb

Low back pain is very common, costing millions in lost

work, as well as millions in medical, state, and insurance resources

every year. Most back pain does not signify any serious underlying

problem and will sort itself out within a few days to a few weeks. It is

described as acute or chronic. Low back pain means a pain or ache

somewhere between the bottom of the ribs, at the back, and the top of

the legs. The pain often begins suddenly, and may follow an obvious

strain or injury, but may seem to come on " out of the blue " or come on

slowly.

The pain may travel to or be felt elsewhere. It often goes

into the buttocks but may go further down the leg and

even into the foot. The pain may be worse on bending and

is often worse sitting, especially in an easy chair.

Sometimes turning over in bed and sitting up are

agonizing. Coughing or sneezing can often make the pain

much worse. The muscles of the back may go into painful

spasm.

Back pain may be combined with pain into the leg,

travelling down below the knee, this is otherwise known as sciatica

because the main nerve to the leg (the sciatic

nerve) is being irritated by pressure on it.

Low back pain is common. The main cause for low back pain

is a strain of the muscles or other soft structures (e.g. ligaments and

tendons) connected to the backbones (vertebrae). Sometimes it is the

cushion between the bones (intervertebral disc) which is strained and

which bulges out (herniates) and presses on the nearby nerves. Exactly

what is injured varies from person to person, but you may also get

differing theories depending on whom you ask. Thus, the poor sufferer

may become confused and worried.

The main thing about most low back pain is to not worry

and to stay active. Regular exercise to keep generally fit

is more important than any specific exercises aimed at the

back muscles.

Be aware of the posture and position you are in during

your daily activities. If you have to lift heavy objects,

share the load with other people and try to hold the

weight in close to your body, bending at the knees when possible rather

than your back.

Dr F. Batmanghelidj, MD, is the author of " Your Body's

Many Cries For Water " and one of the most highly respected alternative

healers. The Batman believes that a large number of men's problems are

due to dehydration. This includes low back pains. His cure for diseases

caused by dehydration is an ounce of tap water daily for every two

pounds that you weigh; plus some sea salt to make up for that you will

lose due to the increased flow through the body. Get the salt formula

from his book.

Drinking plenty of water is highly recommended as it acts

as a prophylactic for low back pain and a host of other diseases,

including diabetes. If you need the Gentle Touch for low back pain, you

should start the Batman's program immediately to build up the fluid in

the discs. While this is slower than the Touch, it will last longer. The

two go well together for low back pain.

There are two testimonies below. The first is typical of

the bulk of those received. The second goes into some

detail and I will make a few necessary comments at the end

that could only come from one versed in the technique.

These are intended to highlight some aspects that would probably be

overlooked.

Dear Paul:

I purchased and downloaded the Gentle Touch Method of pain relief on Sat

August 25, 2001 in the morning around 10 a.m. Amazingly, around 2 p.m. I

could walk again without the really excruciating pain I was suffering

for 8 days.

Today is Tuesday Aug. 28, and I function normally without

the pain I had. Words cannot express how I really feel.

Paul is the very best for making this heretofore secret available.

Sincerely,

Nick A.

Nick lives about 20 miles from me and within three blocks

of my favorite seafood restaurant. As I write these words,

it is now a month later and Nick has had no further

problems. His 92-year-old mother was in the hospital for congestive

heart failure. Nick used his newfound knowledge to take a charley horse

(big cramp) out of her leg that the nurses didn't treat. Nick says she

couldn't believe that he did it, as she couldn't stop laughing for about

ten minutes.

Let's look at another letter...

Dear Paul,

I have a success for you already. My husband hurt himself

doing squats a few weeks ago. He was in discomfort for the first two

weeks. By the third week he was unable to sleep more than an hour at a

time and would awaken in severe pain. He popped muscle relaxants and

aspirin (to relieve

inflammation) like candy. We applied ice daily and he went

to chiropractic treatment four or five times since

injuring himself. Multiple times a day he'd have a session

on the Chi Machine as well as go upside down on our Hang-

Ups (an inversion table).

The last two days he'd really gone downhill (probably from

lack of sleep). Chiropractic helped relieve the pain. He

just wasn't holding the adjustment long (a few hours at

best). Anyway, yesterday morning I let you know I was

ready to order Gentle Touch and here is what happened.

Right after writing you I took him to another chiropractic session

followed by a two-hour massage. He felt well enough to go across town

and take our oldest son out for a birthday dinner. By the end of the

dinner, he was again in discomfort. By the time we got in the car, he

was ready to put his head through the roof as the spasms of pain hit

him.

We got home and he collapsed into bed while I put our

two little ones to bed. While he was down, I saw you had emailed me the

Gentle Touch. I printed it, practiced it, and used it on him when he got

up a short time later. I knew I had the right spot because he fell

asleep almost instantly. He slept a few hours and got up a couple of

times throughout the night though I never noticed.

When the alarm rang, I realized he wasn't in bed. He was waiting for me

to get up so that I could " touch " him again. He hurt but was not

writhing in pain, as he had been the last couple of days. He got into

position and promptly fell asleep for about four hours. When he awoke,

he had what he called " only a memory of an ache. " He moved his leg in

all sorts of ways he couldn't for the last three weeks and declared

himself free of pain.

A couple of hours later I suggested he be treated again

before we go in to talk with a teacher at youngest

daughter's school. I knew we'd be sitting on little chairs

and would strain the affected areas. He relaxed but did

not fall asleep. We finished the conference and before

going in to work, he laid down so I could " touch " him

again. Once more, he fell asleep. He's been out about an

hour now and shows no sign of waking up any time soon. I

guess he's making up for the last several days of not

sleeping. Good thing we work for ourselves and can set our

own hours. Before he leaves, I'll teach him how to " touch " himself so he

can quickly overcome any further discomfort. Anyway, thank you for

downloading it so quickly. Thank you, also for sharing the Gentle Touch

will the world.

Sincerely,

Kathryn Soraiz

P.S. - Where did your father touch you as a child that you

fell asleep more easily? I'd welcome any tips.

The answer to Kathryn's question is simple. I'd be on his chiropractic

table no more than 5 minutes and I'd be gone. It made no difference

where he was working.

There are several points that I would like to make about

this testimonial:

1. There was extreme pain. This is by far the easiest to

remove with the Gentle Touch and Logan Basic. An old

arthritic hand where the muscles are atoned and ankylosis

has come in is the next thing to impossible.

2. Even a novice can can alleviate extreme pain as Kathryn demonstrated.

3. A Toucher can do as good a job as the professionals who

do not use the GT. In many cases he will often outshine

them. For a number of years about the only people that I treated outside

of family and immediate friends were those who had tried everything else

without success. Very often, those that I knew I could help wouldn't let

me touch them. I had a success rate of about 80% with those who were

desperate enough to let a stranger without a white coat touch them. Some

of these had spent thousands of dollars to no avail and I fixed them in

less than 15 minutes. I guess I should adopt the same reply as that of a

famous healer in England who by law could not say that he cured anybody.

Of the many who walked out of his office whole, he would say, " It is

obvious that they were misdiagnosed because I can't cure anybody. "

4. My Dad learned the Gentle Touch when he was about 20

years old. He met mother in Chiropractic College. For

years, he practiced conventional chiropractic with

relatively little success. He started treating a

cardiologists wife from a nearby town who had been a

family friend for years. She had a cancer of the eye that

was extremely painful. Dad would drive over to treat her

every other day, as this was the only way she could find

to control the pain without being a vegetable. He then

started to use it on some other patients where he couldn't

get results. He shortly went to this exclusively and

became known as the painless chiropractor. As his practice

grew mother had to stop teaching high school math and help

with the patient load. He went to the Touch for one reason

and one reason only. That is it outperforms all of the

others. (It is great to be 77 years old where there is

nothing that anyone can do to hurt you for speaking the

truth as you see it.)

5. Having Touchers in the family can save you a lot of

money.

In tomorrow's lesson I'll write about using the Gentle

Touch for migraine headaches.

See you then!
