Guest guest
Someone may have already answered this, I am playing " email catch up " after being gone all day. LOTS to catch up on....another group I belong to just had a suggestion on ant control....A mixture of 1/4 c. Joy DW liquid & 3/4 c. water...put in spray bottle, spray around doors, windows, steps, etc. anywhere you see them coming in I suppose. Guest guest
Get some peppermint essential oil and put a few drops on each of a handful of cotton balls. Place the cotton balls throughout the house. Pests and animals are repelled by peppermint. Guest guest
Yes it does. I know a woman who works on a large farm in Alberta, Canada and there are no mice even in the barn. There is peppermint growing all over the place and they let it grow for this reason. Guest guest
Regular, ordinary Hominy Grits. Sprinkle 'em around the area where the ants are getting in. They eat it. It swells with moisture, and they explode. Or something like that. It does work though. Guest guest
i have a minor problem with an unusual type of ant. They don't like sweets but tend to like fatty things. And they BITE! A lid to something like baba ghannoush will attract a hoard in seconds. i've tried using diatomaceous earth but that doesn't work all that well. They seem to avoid it if i set up a " trap " . Does anyone have a solution which won't attract or harm a curious doggie (who likes to eat the ants (even though she ends up thrusting her tongue out for a minute or two)? i suspect they're biting her in the mouth -- Ciocia L.
