Dear Group,

The previous message below didn't solve the problem, so as of now,

all messages with long tails will be deleted and put in the trash by

the moderators and will not be posted to the group.

You will be wasting your time to write something if you do not cut

off the tails of signatures, etc. Some members have been wasting our

time in having to edit most every post for them. It is time to learn

some list posting etiquette.

Another consideration is the amount of storage space that the group

has for archives if finite. Why take up scarce storage space storing

40 lines of message and signatures when you are posting a one

sentence message.

Anyway, if your message disappears. It may have been because it was

unedited and contained a long tail.

Dear Group,

Please edit the message when posting to the group. I am getting tired

of having

to edit everyone's messages. We wind up with long tails of messages

and

signatures.

Here is a one sentence message and a long tail. ??????

Don't misread the message earlier. We want people to post to this

list. The group was started to share information between like minded

individuals.

We like it when people share information. That is what this list is

all about although it would be better if some messages contained more

information.

There are different forms of communication on the web. An instant

messenger or a chat room is for short chatty conversations.

Mailing lists are usually more for sharing bigger blocs of

information and less for short conversational messages, but can be

either.

This group is mainly for sharing information that has some depth to

it, so if you want to give the group some information try and explain

in some depth what information you would like them to know. This

usually cannot be done in one or two sentences.

Interaction is needed and wanted here. It gives us a sense of

community. Coversations are good. We get to know each other and it

makes the group a nice friendly place. As in most things balance is

what we are striving for and as usual is hard to achieve.

I am just trying to recap some of the basic structure and simple

rules to the group. With these are group has become much better than

most out there.

Please enjoy the group and each other.

regards,

Frank
