Guest guest
Evening Kristin, >Also, I have been telling folks for years that milk does not prevent >osteoporosis. This is a wonderful article which I will share with >everyone!!!! Be careful that you do not represent the article to be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, because that is not the case. If anyone says " milk prevents osteoporosis " , I would say they are narrow minded, or ignorant of many facts. They have been reading the wrong publications, or drawing the wrong conclusion from what they read. When you say, " milk does not prevent osteoporosis " , you are talking about " magic bullet nutrition " . ( as opposed to, " milk does prevent osteoporosis " ) Both statements suggest one item, magic results. Many people who study nutrition begin to think like people who take drugs. ONE thing does this and one thing does that. Not so. It is a disaster and a mistake to think a single nutrient or single food will do any great thing to anyone. The addition of a single nutrient or a single food, to an otherwise good program, could in fact help the immune system, the body chemistry, and in turn aid the body to eliminate many malfunctions. Two kinds of ailments, " Body malfunction " and " organic diseases " . >If milk supposedly makes you beautiful, then why didn't my hair grow >fast or my acne go away while I was drinking it? It was only AFTER I >removed the milk products from my life that I got such dramatic >improvements. You must have added foods that you did not get while on the other diet. The problem with eating meat, milk, dairy, eggs, bread, and potatoes, is simply that people eat so much of these foods, they miss hundreds of other great foods. I do not eat meat every meal, not even every day. I even skip the milk and raw eggs some days. About 5 days out of seven, I eat no cooked foods. Many people think diet means no variety. Wild animals often eat 100 different foods in one day. I don't eat 100 different foods in a day, but I eat much more variety than most people. Eating nuts, seeds, fruit, and what raw vegetables I can get will be a number of different foods in a day, and even a higher number within one week. Everyone that thinks milk is bad, evil, and damaging to ones health needs to read the 1929 article from the Mayo Clinic. Way back then, it was called the Mayo Foundation.
