Herbal treatment for mono?

Hi everyone! My name is Kim - I am from Ohio. My situation is

this: After 4 trips to the doctor, my daughter was finally diagnosed

by extensive blood test to have monunucleosis. She is 12 years old.

The blood test shows she is only in the beginning phases, but she

already had the " bullfrog neck " and now her spleen is swollen, but

the doctors don't seem that concerned. They said to send her to

school and make sure she doesn't participate in gym and that she

cannot continue her competitive cheerleading and indoor soccer

activities because of risk of spleenic rupture. There is no

treatment for mono so we have to just " wait it out " . She has been on

prednisone (steroid) for 4 days and hasn't helped her spleen...it

compromises your immune system so she is on antibiotics (Zithromax).

We have a friend who was treated by an herbalist because his mono and

swollen spleen - his doctors became concerned because of his blood

count (white vs. red)and I am afraid this same thing will happen to

my daughter. He took an herbal supplement and was better in 2

days...anyone have any experience with this at all? Any advice would

be welcomed! xxxkimxxx

Hi Kim! Welcome to the group :)

It IS possible to get better very quickly with certain herbal

treatments, yes. Once, I was treated with strep throat by the MDs. It

took me over a month to fully recover and regain full energy. Then,

during a detoxification process (which can happen if you start eating

healthy and taking supplements, though it doesn't happen to

everyone), I got strep throat again. This time, I didn't go to any MD

but I took care of it on my own, my way, using natural remedies I

learned of doing my own research, and it was 100% gone and my energy

was fully restored within less than 48 hrs. And I did it for pennies,

versus a few hundred dollars to the MDs. So yes, some natural methods

can work fast :)

However, I've never had mono before, nor do I know what to do about

it. :( No doubt that Suzi or Don will offer some great advice, they

help out a lot of ppl on this board. All I can say right now is that

you may want to get in touch with Doc Shillington or find an ND

(naturopathic doctor) or herbalist in your area. Ask your husband's

friend who he went to, because he sounds like he may be worth his

salt, from the results you posted.

I hope that I could be of at least some help :) You've come to the

right place, this is a great board. I suggest you fully investigate

the files, and also take a few days and comb through the message

archives starting all the way back with #1. Yep, it'll take a while.

And yep, it's worth it. :)

Cheers,
