Guest guest
Hello - I haven't been posting much since my husband passed away, but I check in a catch up on the messages here. My 'mind-set' on conventional medicine is one of distrust, especially since having seen first hand how all the ground we had won fightling lung cancer with alternatives was lost and destroyed by conventional medicine once my poor husband was forced into the system steroids (-he had a brain tumor removed) side effect blew a hole in his intestine - emergency surgery or death - more steroids, dextrose ivs, morphine). Having said all that I could use some input from alternatively minded folks on the subject of naproxenn. I have bad arthritis - and have been dealing with it for about ten years now. i have done and continue to use all the supplements that are supposed to support and reverse damage - glucosime, condroiton,MSM, CMO, enzymes etc. Recently I took 'Relora' which is supposed to lower cortisol - but since cortisol in proper amounts is an anti-inflamatory I only took it for a few days before experiencing horrible increase in pain in my knees. It was so intense and debilitating that I resorted to cracking open my prescription for naproxen (dr told me to take this twice a day, but I only did so for a month and then stopped going with alternitive supplements instead) - years ago. I know the naproxen is masking the symptom - but it's a nsaid that apparently rduced the inflamation in my affected joints. I can actually walk and move again without pain. it feels......wonderful to do so, I can't remember the last time I did not have chronic and continual pain. so here's my question - I am thinking of continuing to take this drug, but I hate to do so - if I do stay on it am I doing myself any real harm long term? thanks for any information on this subject you may have! Guest guest
Thank you Steve - I'm afraid I am a bit of a backwater area and altho my husband searched for a practioner of Chinese medicine/accupuncture we were never able to find one. I do appreciate your suggestions and will keep on looking - who knows when one might appear in this area! thanks again ~jan
Guest guest
I took alot of anti-inflammatories trying to treat carpal tunnel. I developed leaky gut syndrome(holes in the intestinal tract allowing food leakage into the body). For about 1 year, I had allergic/intolerant reactions to most foods I ate & spent hours per day in the bathroom. Personally, I will not take them again. If you must take the drugs, make sure you take with at least 300 calories of food. Never on an empty stomach & not just with something small like a cracker. The leaky gut will be worse than the arthritis! A wonderful chiropractor, who practices Chinese medicine/natural healing/kinesiology, finally healed me. He was just listed as a chiropractor in the phone book. Check out your directory, call & ask if they practice natural healing methods. You may find someone. , " JanPM " <pipersmama> wrote: > Thank you Steve - I'm afraid I am a bit of a backwater area and altho my husband > searched for a practioner of Chinese medicine/accupuncture we were never able > to find one.
