I have very long thick hair, and I would never condition daily, as it weights

my hair down. I change my shampoo and conditioner every 6 months, so as not

to get used to the product. I condition 2x a week and lightly. I cut ends

off every 4-6 months and have no split ends.

I also have very thick, wavy, coarse hair (dark brown). I don't use

a commercial shampoo or conditioner at all, and I only wash my hair

once or twice a week. It's much happier that way! I DO, however,

brush it well twice a day. For washing I rub a small handful of

baking soda through my hair when it's damp in the shower, massage in,

rinse. Then add about 2 tbsp organic apple cider vinegar to about 1

cup warm water (I just keep it in the shower, inside a plastic

measuring cup) and pour through my hair. It takes a week or so for

the hair to get used to the new treatment, so combing out will be a

little harder at first, but once you get past that, your hair and

scalp will love you for it! I haven't had split ends in over 25 years.

Cheers

I too have to change my shampoo often. I have fine thin but with body hair. I

use a pump bottle and just add different shampoos into it when it gets low. I

continually have a different shampoo formula. It works for me. I also use the

shampoo to wash my body as have very sensitive skin.

Blessed Be.

Thanks. just a note: Synthetic shampoos; esp. medicated may cause

redness on the face. Even natural shampoos can. Many soap irritates. A

Hi Anne,

Yes many people do have allergies to essential oils ect. If what I

have suggested doesn't suit I am sure someone in the group will have

a great idea as we have many wonderful, informative members here.

Kindest Regards
