Guest guest
Hello Folks Shamanism by all appearances is heavy on symbols and ritual. It looks to be mere metaphor, but appearances are deceptive. The metaphor hides that which is sense-certain, and the ritualistic dance continues to bring these expressions into their full form. The metaphor passes over into the allegory as the deeper meaning is felt directly and never contained in the physical expression. The spirit returns to source leaving the metaphor in its splendor, but the deeper secret escapes our most selfish grasp. The beating drums are all that remains. The intuition is felt starkly, but there are no words that can be given to describe the precognitive feeling. This feeling must be given time to prepare. And when enough time has passed the thought crystalizes and words spring forward. The flower blooms eternal, but all of the beauty only tells of the spirit that returned to source. The deeper secret is locked away. Walking in Nature we might ponder the attraction of the Bay Leafs, their fragrance beckons. The Elderberry Tree has a feel, so it seems. What secrets will be revealed as the spirit returns to source once again? The deeper secret will slip away, but there is beauty still to be had if experience is any guide. Intuition deserves a deeper respect on these matters. Herb stores are full, but how did these special plants make their way to store if not for someone's a-priori intuition? I had the privilege to serve as care-giver for my mother for four long years, she required end-of-life care. Yet even here there is beauty to be had as spirit returns to source. It was not just about letting someone die, she had a condition that the Western doctors could not cure. It was also about helping someone live that was dying. The intuition was there for me to help her find those moments when she could live, rather than cut bait and give up hope. And there was much hope that had been found in the present moment. She lived for three years beyond the best expectation of Western doctors. And that was good enough. Stephen
