Guest guest
Hi Irene! There is alot of difference in harvesting and quality between green tea produced in Japan and green tea produced in China. I have been living in Japan this past year and have visited China. There is a very big difference and I highly recommend the Japanese green teat over the Chinese green tea. I have a website that is interesting, especially for brewing directions and also to show you what a good green tea should look like. Most green teas only have a shelf life of about 6-12 months and all are oxygen and light sensative. The processed stuff in American grocery stores are really a poor excuse for tea and their nutrient quality has been quite affected. The tea on this website is pricy though. If I was living in the States I would still pay that price personally just to get a quality tea but here in Japan (we are leaving soon to return to our Michigan home) there is an abundance of high quality sencha at lower prices. I had my interpreter call a place that has outstanding sencha and I was able to get 30% off by a volume discount. That takes my price down to about $7 for 100 grams! That is much better than the $17.00 listed in the website. This tea that I am buying for about $7 (given yen to dollar exchange rate) is excellent and I have been drinking this particular brand for about 2 months. So. if you are interested, let me know and I will be glad to find out if this company has an English speaking sales rep. If you have friends who are also interested maybe you can order alot and get a volume discount like I am getting. But, if you decide to go with a smaller first purchase than I think it is likely you can get a much better price than this website. The best Japanese green tea website I have found will be listed below. It is a fun website to go around and prehaps some of its best value is in a good description of how to brew the leaves (you dont have to get a special pot though- let me know if you want more brewing info), and it is helpful to see a picture of what good green tea looks like. I would go to their sencha page and look at item number 4 (Fukamishi cha) that is an example of what you want- no additives like rice or barley- ( common additive to stretch out the batch)Deep rich green in color- wow, you can just see the vitamines in the deep color, LOL! The sencha I mentioned is also like this in color and lack of addtivies. It is also sencha. It just has a lower price <grin>. So if you are interested I will ask my interpreter to get me english info on this company. This particular company sells in all the major stores in my area of Japan. Here is the website. I would really play around at this site and then go to ordering and check out " sencha " to see how green tea should look. http://www.japanesegreenteaonline.com Love in Christ, Cindy herbal remedies , Irene72380@a... wrote: > hello, i was wondering where i can find high quality green tea? are you > talking about a website that i can also order from? > > thanks > irene > > > > > >> .
