Guest guest
Just wondering about the issue of stocking up for a " just in case " situation. With all the wierd stuff going on in the world right now and we never know when Mother Nature herself will give you a reason to need to be stocked up, what would be the best way to do this. My thought being, you can buy a lot of food cheaply that may not be of good quality, be full of chemicals, and GMO full, or you can go organic, which would be more costly and buy less (and maybe not have enough). What would be the best choice for a survival situation? My feelings are that the lesser quality foods might go farther, but what about the health issues of not eating the best kinds of foods, especially in a stressful situation? Wouldn't Organic foods allow a healthier body in a time of crisis which we would really need?! Just want to make sure I am thinking about this from the right direction, by not compromising diet for quanity. What are your thoughts and opinions? ) Amanda
Guest guest
Don't forget the duct tape Seriously, Doc said something last week about having a gallon of total tonic. As for the food I would go with as high quality as I can afford. Guest guest
You know, something to consider for cost effectiveness and health is canning your own food stocks. The Amish do this all the time and are very healthy. Every spring and summer I help the children's godmother with her garden and the extra produce we can or freeze. It is so much better than anything I have ever gotton from a store. Fresh is best, but in a situation like you are describing this would be second best to that I think. Guest guest
Perhaps a good camping stove and extra fuel, remeber they should be used OUTSIDE! Last ice storm many people were using them inside, bad idea. And don't forget your pets needs. One other thing to think about is neighbors, others don't always see the need, perhaps putting away a little extra water and things...
