Aloe is very good. I also have a remedy from Dr. Christopher I have been wanting to try, but haven't had the chance to yet- a paste made from wheat germ oil, comfrey and honey. I hope she heals fast.

Dog bites can be so nasty! I saw a woman at the emergency room years back where she was bit by, I kid you not, one of her 2 pet wolves when she went to play with the new "puppies". She waited 2 to 3 days to come in. It literally loooked like hair was growing from the wound, her arm was all hairy with thick, dark hair coming out where it shouldn't have been. The bite was oozing and very very nasty. Everyone in the ER got up to look and gasp at her arm, LOL. My aunt, who works in an orth. office, says that dog bites or even scratches carry can carry horrible bacteria and always immediately disinfect very well. Some people say not to stitch up small dog bites right away for this reason. The only concern I would have, then, with comfrey use would be it sealing too quickly. My friends daughter was bitten on the face, not a deep wound, by her grandmothers small dog. The bite carried this one type of bacteira dogs can have that stops brain function or growth, and there is only one med made for this; she was on the med at a toddler age when it shouldn't be used at all by children, but it is the only treatment for this bacteria available. Just trying to illustrate not to close up the wound too soon! My friend is suspicious on her daughter as they stitched her up right away, and then the infection set in. I wish your sister the best.

I would start taking total tonic right away. sound more like an infection setting in to me. maybe try soaking in a bath with epsom salts also.

Oh dear, poor child. Go to the link below, in which Doc gives a very could powder you can apply to the wound.

Some herbs that are excellent for external salves, poultices and powders are calendula, plantain, lavender, tea tree and comfrey. Do not use comfrey on deep wounds because it heals too fast and there is a chance of an skin healed over the top of a deeper hurt. Gentle cleansing with water and hydrogen pyroxide will help keep it infection free.

Ice packs are great for pain and swelling. Let us know how she is doing.

Janet, She could take it about every 3-4 hours... which in this case I would... even put the total tonic on the wound...

No it is not good. She may be getting a serious infection. Make up some Total Tonic and give it to her 1 tablespoon at least every six hours.
