It is supposed to take 2 to 3 years for the lungs to heal after smoking if no damage was done, according to all the research they have done. The heart is the same I believe - my ex's boss had a heart attak from a bad lifetsyle. He was into herbs and now his heart is to 85% it's normal strength, which most people his age cant say even if they hadnt smoked! Guest guest
Helen, A de-tox would also be a good idea... to remove the toxins from the smoking. Guest guest
Message might help to loosen and relax the muscles around the lungs which may allow them to expand further and easier so I don't think it can hurt. But I doubt smoking or breathing in the smoke from anything will help clear the lungs from tobacco damage. The lungs need a chance to clear out and heal. As far as getting some of the lung function back, I would recommend deep breathing exercises. This is a web site I found with descriptions of some different yoga breathing exercises kundalini yogapranayam.html I have found " breath of fire " (no it has nothing to do with your breath after taking total tonic ;-) ) to be very helpful with my asthma. (as in it helps to expand my lungs and increase their functionality.. so when I do have my asthma kick in it doesn't effect me as much. Still working on stopping the asthma). When you first start doing these you may find yourself coughing, it gets better. Guest guest
Yes, you can noramalize the lungs after years of smoking. It takes a lot of strenous exercise (running is best) to get it done quickly. To get it done fastest, you need to go through ole Doc Thompson's Purge and Puke routine after a full body cleanse. Love, Doc PS. The recipe for Total Tonic is in the files. ;o) A good Lobelia Tincture that had Mullein in it would help dramatically in trying to quit. Every time you feel like a cig, you just take a dropperful of this tincture. Handles the cravings very fast. Guest guest
Yeah, wellllllllllll no one said that natural healing was always easy ROTFLOL Buuuutttttttt, I'd rather "Purge and Puke" using natural methods, than "Cut and Remove" going the medical route. Some people think that using Cayenne is radical. I think Open Heart Surgery is a little higher on the "radical" scale. ) Love, Doc PS. Doing nothing as far as the lungs are concerned, but quitting smoking and leading an "active" lifestyle would still be more beneficial than not quitting at all.
