Guest guest
Sonia, It's probably a strep infection and will pass in a few days without antibiotics and with the proper care. But is she running a fever? If it's a low grade one and it lasts for a while you may want to have her tested for mono. I think that the yelling was just bad timing. She probably had something setting in. ILANA xoxo veg4all wrote: Hi everyone, Sorry, I don't participant much but I do appreciate all the info passed along here. I would like to ask for some suggestions. My oldest daughter felt something happen to her throat when she was yelling the other day. They were in the woods playing around. Since then she has had a sore throat. I did not know of this till Sunday. But since then she had such a severe sore throat I was going to run her to a doctor then she fell asleep. I didn't wake her since she didn't get any sleep the night before. Well, apparently she had an infection set in the vocal cords and it drained off yesterday. She said her throat felt much better but now we are trying to keep infection out of it and it is very sore. The back left tonsil in very inflamed and it did have a little white coating and she speaks as though she had her tonsils out. And she is alot better now then she was but..... She is also says it feels like someone in pushing on her head in the back. She has not been eating much but not do to lack of appetite just the sore throat. She is lacking in energy and basically feels blah. She doesn't talk to save the strain on the vocal cords. She is taking Total Tonic, echinacea and goldenseal, charcoal and charcoal poultices on the neck. Also I know it will take awhile for this to heal now but what else can I do. I have been giving her a sore throat syrup I made and it helps soothe it. I'll take anysuggestions anyone can give me. And does anyone know how long it takes to heal over or even feel better. Guest guest
Hi Sonia, Garlic, lots of garlic. Also hot and cold compresses on the throat will help. Gargle with sage tea or warm salt water will help to kill off the infection as will gargling with the Total Tonic. I don't know how old your daughter is but if she can gargle, then have her gargle as far back into her throat as she can and often. At least 3 times a day. She can drink the sage tea. It might not taste the greatest but will certainly help. If she gargles with it have her spit it out though. Does sound a bit like strep to me also. She just happened to yell and with her throat already on its way to infection, well it just hurt.
