Guest guest
Hi Ilana, Essential oils including tea tree oil can be quite harmful to cats. Cats metabolize essential oils differently than dogs or humans, the oils can build up in their system and there is a very high chance for toxicity. Please do an internet search for cats + essential oils for more info. -Jo Ilana Grostern <ilana Re: Ear Infection-Dog Could you use that same thing for cats? My cat had a problem some years back and this was before we knew any better so we let the vet prescribe him antibiotic drops. the problem cleared up and so far hasn't come back but if it does can I use this on him? Anyone ever tried that? Guest guest
I searched after reading this in fear that I gave out bad advice...what i found is that you must use common since, and know the ingredients potential that you are working with. Of coarse you don't use it in it's pure form...you must dilute it. The cases of cats dying or being hurt were from not diluting...inagine taking a bath in nothing but tea tree oil! And then there is the size issue..you give lesser ammounts of anything to smaller people/pets. --- Jo Evans <jevans wrote: > Hi Ilana, > > Essential oils including tea tree oil can be quite > harmful to cats. > Cats metabolize essential oils differently than dogs > or humans, the oils > can build up in their system and there is a very > high chance for > toxicity.
