I took math in the 60's and 70's but I did much better on the 50's method. Now what the heck is Saxon Math? Is this something from the 9th century or what?

Don,

I don't know if Saxon is the person's name that came up with this way of figuring or what..

I just know that it is a new way of figuring, my daughter had it in school, I couldn't figure it out...so, I showed her how to figure it the way I was taught and she got 1/2 point for each one for not showing her work "correctly" taken off.

2+2=4, I didn't think it mattered how you figure it to get the answer as long as it's correct, but now days, I guess it does.

Of coarse, she was into Algebraic (sp?) problems...
