And another time just breaking habeneros for cooking made my fingers ache for 3 days - trouble sleeping for sure (sigh) Cautious when touching anything "hot" now

Actually I forgot Doc's question about it being raw or dried...It was

raw peppers. I was cutting these up to make a batch of canned hot sauce.

I have gotten the effect from dried and fresh. I have not tried powder, so not sure on how this works

I have had an....almost burning irritation on regular skin. But vaginal openings are no problem, and neither is the ear canal - which confuses me to no end lol. But whichever works

Yes, they blistered the palms of my hands!!! Took hours to quit burning,

and the next day there were blisters. I swore I would never use them

without gloves again.

BUT, this might have been before any of my cleansings too!!! Lots of

topical things I use to be " Allergic " to no longer affect my skin...I

had Extra sensitive skin. Being in the sun would cause little blisters

to pop up on the backs of my hands. Rubbing my eyes caused my tearducts

to swell, and my eyes would swell shut!! All makeups and soaps would

cause my face to swell....I could go on and on, but I think you get the

gist of it.

It is probably not your typical reaction, but it did happen to me. And

that fear popped back up when this was mentioned LOL.

Gotcha ;o)

We are always extra careful when making our habanero cayenne tincture.

At one time I squeezed a cloth with cayenne in it to get the last bit out of a tincture and my hands didn't stop burning for over 24 hours. However, it is a sensation of burning. There is no true "burn" as you get with garlic due to the acid in it.

Oh, slice a piece of garlic across the grain and put a sliver on your skin and cover with a bandaid. You'll have a nice little red spot there the next morning where it has eaten through a layer or two of skin.

When I'm helping a breast tumor or neck tumor to come out through the skin, I use garlic as my surgical tool.

The key thing here is that even though it burns like hell, there is no permanent damage.

I think that any blistering arising from using cayenne is a very special effect created only on a few people, and the effect would not be permanent.

I've had it in my eyes, my ears, throat, nose, rectum and once on the scrotum (don't ask Suzi) after forgetting to wash my hands before going potty. It wasn't fun and kept me hopping for a few hours.

But you will do no permanent damage.

Whenever we make our salsa, I have to remember to wash

my hands at least three times, very carefully, much

like a surgeon does. If my wife and I get " romantic " ,

can't have the hot stuff still on my fingers!
