Does anyone know what a good herbal stimulant might be to replace coffee in the morning? I do need something for a jumpstart.

Yerba Matte is what works for me.  I drink

it in a better format than just alone though, although I used to drink it alone.

It has what is a mirror image of caffeine in it (not caffeine).  I can send you

a few tea bags of a formula that I drink every morning if you like.  Write me

privately.  I sweeten it with Stevia.

Try Kombucha tea (AKA Manchurian tea). There's at least one on this. Also google search to learn about it. Hope this helps. Richard RiceBea Bernhausen <beabernhausen wrote: Does anyone know what a good herbal stimulant might be to replace coffee in the morning? I do need something for a jumpstart.

Do you have a site for Kombucha tea? I used to use it but found it was toxic. Would like to know if there is more info on it.Richard Rice <dtceftis1 wrote: Try Kombucha tea (AKA Manchurian tea). I looked for info on this tea and found

ungoJapon.htm

Summary

Due to the lack of scientific evidence, the general

consensus of medical and scientific communities is to

not recommend the use of kombucha tea. (Monson)

Reports of severe toxicity resulting from the

ingestion of kombucha tea would suggest that ingestion

of the tea is potentially dangerous and cannot,

therefore, be recommended.

Description / Source / Components

Kombucha tea contains various bacterial/yeast

colonies, metabolites, B-vitamins, and up to 1.5%

alcohol. (Monson) (Anonymous 1995)

Kombucha is a drink made by growing the " kombucha

mushroom " (a symbiotic mixture of yeast and bacteria)

in sugared black tea. (Monson) (Anonymous 1995)

The " kombucha mushroom " looks like a slippery,

rubbery, brownish-gray " pancake " floating on top of

the sugared tea. The tea tastes like sour cider.

(Monson) (Wigod) (Webb)

This one tells who should not drink it.

It appears there were a couple of deaths in iowa in

1995 but these people were culturing their own.

You'll get a lot of arguement pro-KT from this group: http://health.original_kombucha/ I find the tea quite good. It is suggested for some to start out very slowly and to watch for detox effects, gradually building up to drinking more. We (wife & I) drink it at will and so far can't make enough to last between batches. Here's a few links to explore: Kombucha tea links: http://w3.trib.com/~kombu/ http://www.kombu.de/hoopla.htm http://www.rifetechnology.com/kombucha.htm http://fungi.com/info/articles/blob.html http://w3.trib.com/~kombu/FAQ/homeFAQ.html Best.
