Guest guest
Hi all, I can add another unusual reaction to food additives ! During the years we lived in Germany, my daughter would get huge, see-through " bubbles " on the tips of her fingers after eating processed foods with additives. After those bubbles burst, her skin would be so raw that she couldn't use a pen or pick up a fork. It was very painful. Then I remembered my family history of people with reactions to food, and inhalant " reactions " and put her on a strict diet of freshly cooked pasta, home-made tomato sauce and milk or water (she was in high school at that time). Her symptoms went away and we slowly added on more foods. Also, we noticed differences in additives among varous European countries. In Denmark, she could eat almost everything, whereas in Germany, her diet was very limited. Interesting, isn't this ? Today, she can eat most types of foods but is careful with processed foods and prefers a healthy, natural diet. Shirley
