Guest guest
Mart...My daughter had severe nosebleeds for awhile and here is how we handled it. When she had a nosebleed we gave her a dropperful of cayenne tincture and it STOPPED it within seconds. This may be too much for your daughter at one time so check her tolerance. Have her take as much as she can stand on a daily basis , like 8 drops etc. in water to build up her tolerance on a gradient I have also done this with my younger son and sure enough the nosebleed stops within seconds after a dropperful of cayenne. Now for handling the source of the nosebleeds....Total Nutrition , Lemon Egg and Panther Piss is a must. My daughter was already taking the Total Nutrition and Lemon Egg but when we added the Panther Piss ALL nosebleeds stoped within a week , I kid you not....Mary O - Marti Herbal Remedies Friday, September 26, 2003 11:44 AM [herbal remedies] NoseBleeds My daughter had a nosebleed last night (again). I had just read something about cayanne pepper for that. She is 14 and I would like to get her started on cayanne pepper. I take 100,000 HU a day (capsule form). What would be the best way to get her to take it and how much. I don't want to turn her off to it by giving her too much. She is overall very healthy (ballet dancer) but this is her one physical challenge. Thanks, MartiFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. Guest guest
Just wanted to comment on nosebleeds, I was sitting here reading posts the other day when my nose started bleeding (it is very dry here in Alaska) I went searching for my sack of cayenne pepper, put a ltiny bit on my finger and then dabbed it up my nose, within 5 seconds the bleeding stopped. Yes it did burn slightly, but flushing with water helped. Guest guest
Hello group ... For the last couple of weeks I have been getting quite bad nosebleeds and today I lost a serious amount of the red stuff. I managed to stop it eventually by squeezing my nostrils together just below the bone for 15 - 20 mins. I'm 52 years young and don't take any meds. I,ve started taking a tincture of the herb Yarrow or to give it its folk name - nosebleed! Any ideas on why I should get 6 or 7 nosebleeds in 2 weeks ? Thanks - Ray. Guest guest
My father used to get them, some blood vessels become inflamed and then burst, could be due to many things, like allergies to something, or dry air, autoimmunity which goes along with allergies, stress and sex hormones can affect autoimmunity too. Perhaps cauterization would help? I'm not sure about that. Do you have a humidifier you can use by your bed at night? Any other allergy symptoms? Guest guest
Thanks for that Kelly - Yes, stress is an issue here as I am moving house for the 2nd time in 12 months ... I think cauterisation would be a good idea as I just touched my nose this morning whilst washing & off it goes again but ... its not bleeding anywhere near as much now and soon stops - praps I've run out of blood? As for a humidifier - I live in the land of wind & rain (England) and have the widow open at night as I'm a fresh air fiend. Here's an interesting site for forgotten medical cures ~ http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/8929/cures.html I've tried the vinegar for nosebleeds & it works (yuk!) Guest guest
Hi there! I was once prescribed a Chinese herbal medicine powder for a G.I. problem. Strangely, the circular inside the patent medicine box said it was also useful for gunshot wounds, presumably to reduce bleeding. I sure have to wonder if it might be useful for your nosebleeds. Chinese herbalists really have some often effective (if often bad tasting) remedies. A doctor of T.C.M. may have something to offer you, so you don't have to get your nose cauterized. It is another option. I was chatting up a fellow volunteer, who is from China, yesterday. We were talking about patent medicines in our local Chinatown. I needed to pick up some " Banlangen " , which is very effective for colds involving sore throat (colds are making the rounds right now). He was so surprised I knew about it, and said during SAARS in China, it was hard to keep it on the store shelves. He uses it too. It can also be used for prevention, if exposed to colds. I would expect that the TCM perspective on nosebleeds would be surprising to most of us, and that the doctor would work systemically to treat it. Guest guest
Hello Steve ... I have a high regard for herbal remedies = 'The Original Medicine' and likewise TCM goes back many millennia but, Herbal preparations can be toxic to the liver as can allopathic meds so I personally like to evaluate and consider everything for its effects but especially its side-effects ... my Homeopathic friend, who has now returned to Germany - used to say to me that " given time + complete rest + pure food, the body is quite capable of healing itself " . The supreme attribute of Homeopathic remedies is that they contain basically next to nothing ... and no one ever died of taking nothing! Lastly, the older I get, the more suspicious I become ... another friend used to say to me " Don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see " Pretty sound advice I would say! The trouble is that anyone can get a diploma or certificate and start practising Indian head massage, crystal therapy or even Trepanning (hole in head therapy!) Perhaps I'm just becoming *even more* cynical as the end gets nearer than the beginning, but I wonder - where does cynicism become wisdom? Kind regards - Ray. - Steve Thursday, October 14, 2004 6:46 AM Re: Nosebleeds Hi there! I was once prescribed a Chinese herbal medicine powder for a G.I. problem.
