Guest guest
Hi folks I'm going through a very stressful time atm. My DH is away on business and I have to have some surgery on a cyst in a few weeks' time. As a result of the stress, my basal body temperatures have really slumped which leads me to believe that my adrenal/hormone system is taking a heavy knock. I'd like some suggestions as to what I might take/eat to boost and support the system at this difficult time. FYI, I follow Sally Fallon's Nourishing Traditions, making all my own stocks and soups, home-made salads and stews etc. I eat a low carb diet, never eat junk or processed foods and very few grains (1/2 cup organic oats in the morning atm). I take a good multi vit and approx 600mg EPA fatty acids every day. I also drink kefir. I think I'm doing quite well, but any further suggestions greatly appreciated! Guest guest
* Daily exercise - especially cardio, also tai chi, walking * Go for a relaxation massage * Listen/meditate to relaxation tapes Diet wise you're doing pretty good, though you might want to consider vegetable juicing and herbal infusions of calming things like chamomile. Guest guest
Hi David Thanks for the suggestions - and guess what? I forgot to mention exercise! I do 2 hours of Pilates a week and lead a busy life, including lots of walking.
